What colors would you make? I've already made a blue and white one, and a green and white one. I think red and white might need to be next. You could even use 3 colors if you wanted! I linked to the cotton cord I used in the description. ☺
If you do red, DEFINITELY pre-wash, repeatedly if necessary.
Sweating or getting rained on, and having your me-made red belt leach onto your pants is... Well, it's a look.
Well fortunately I learned that the hard way on some junk painting clothes, with a prototype version of a belt.
Can we talk about the perfection that is your hair in this video?? I mean, it always looks great, but the s-curve on your right side! On fleek, as the kids say.
Thank you so much!! Wish I could say I did it on purpose but it kind of has a mind of its own and mostly chooses to not do what I quite want it to. 🤣🤣
Easy Peasy!📿Thanks for sharing🎉 I am still waiting patiently for the how to of making your own silicone buttons🤗
Someday. It's a ton of work and just haven't had anywhere close to time. Plus I'm not even sure I can film close enough with my setup, so it's been on the backburner. 😊
@@tashacouldmakethat I understand 🤗Happy creating … FIESTA 🪅
Now that's a different way doing it! Wondering if I can explain the way I do 2 colour twisted cord? Instead of tying one end and working separately tie both ends like you did the one end so now you have a long string of both colours with knots at each end. Now split the colours so one side has white folded against white and the blue against blue. The knots will be in the middle. Anchor one folded end over a hook or something and start twisting from the other folded end. When you get the loopy tension you're looking for grab the knots in the middle keeping the tension and put the free folded end with the anchored folded end and then carefully allow the lengths to twist together. They will want to anyway, you're just controlling the way they twist. If the 2 colour twist isn't tight enough for you pull it back straight, twist some more and then allow them to recombine. Then knot off and you're done! I have no idea if that's clear but I hope so - it's so much fun watching the final twist work all on its own! Love your videos.
The method I like using for one color sometimes is fun since it's just twist, bend at the halfway point and then let go and watch it turn into a twisted cord. So many ways to do a twisted cord!
looks great! I had a flashback to Ellie-May from the Beverley Hillbillies, who had a rope belt on her jeans lol.
Thanks! Ha ha yes, she had some good items in her closet! 😉
Good idea. There's a weird trend of selling long cardigans and such without a tie or belt or something, currently. Or maybe it was just bad luck, but I have two now. So weird. No buttons or anything to keep them closed and no matching fabric belt, either.
Hm, maybe a fashion trend. Ironically I've always wanted to sew a cardigan like that, but have never gotten around to it. 🤣 But a good place to incorporate your own belt I suppose.
Thank you for the tutorial! Please tell us about your top? 😍
You're welcome! The white top is a fleece version of a 1950s sewing pattern, one of my favorites, Butterick 7557. I've made a few!
@@tashacouldmakethat It looks so very nice on you, all your clothes do! Thank you for sharing! ❤
I had a belt like that. I think it was the 70's, hard to remember exactly.
