Test drove the cx9. Nothing compares to it. Every detail was very well thought when mazda build this vehicle. My wife next vehicle will be cx9.
Mazda all the way...better design, reliable and cheaper. I love my Mazda. I'm going for the new CX 5 next. :)
if you're "loaded" and an Audi fan then buy Q7.
but if your practical then go for CX9, you'll not regret owning this car.

The Audi looks so basic.. if you removed the logo and told people to choose a car I'm sure they'd go for the CX-9. The interior is gorgeous with the right colors and the exterior looks superb.. especially the front grill that looks so beastly!
The exterior of the Q7 reminds me of a Jeep Patriot and a Jeep Compass mashed together. The Mazda wins. Wth is going on Audi? Y'all slippin.

The mazda has more bang for the buck, and is incredible to drive for $40,000, also it looks like a beast, spending $70,000 on an Audi would just depress me, it would have to include time travel at that price, but the front grille just looks stupid

I'm 6ft and I found the roof of the Cx9 to be a bit low in the middle row.. Very sports car like.. Have to duck to get in and out

Audi is right behind lexus on reliability now.
Unless you have the reserve cashestay away from the Audi. When it does break down out of warranty you are going to be crying. IVe seen a few friends that bought German luxury cars and found this out the hard way. Its really not worth it for bragging right IMHO...

My 2010 S5 went through 2 motors and 1 rebuild in 50k miles. Used to burn an entire bin of oil in 1k miles. I'm glad I totaled it.
I think the signature should offer another interior option. Just saying for the price.

CX-9 is wayyy better, especially for the price.
Test drove the CX-9 GT in Maryland yesterday. Car handles very, very well. But in warmer states car has a major issue. The thicker glass magnifies the sun and makes driving exhaustingly hot. Outside temp was in the high 70's and sun was beating through the windshield. Temp set on recirc and 60 and felt like I was under a sunlamp. I will not be a buyer until this issue is addressed.
Thicker glas magnifies the heat from the sun? Seriously just no. Maybe the A/C isn't strong enough but it's not the fault of thick glass. Or maybe the car had been parked outside and interior surfaces were heat soaked. FWIW we have no issues here in Australia, so.......um....yeah.

ten jay they say it makes the car more top heavy and it would performs worse but I think with the cx 9 they might just be leaving some room for improvement bc it's a heavy enough car I don't think you would notice
I agree. Mazda is obsessed with keeping all their vehicles light as possible even if that means losing elements found in most of the competitors. Panoramic sunroof is awesome. But I certainly could live without it. I think another factor is cost. Mazda doesn't sell well outside of the Mazda 3 so they aren't able to just throw tons of extras in their vehicles. Mazda has to watch the wallet.
The Pan roof lessens structural integrity. Theres a video somewhere on youtube where a lady was in a accident and car rolled over. Had it been a PanRoof the outcome for her might of been different. It was a Mazda 6 by the way.

It's not biased at all that you sell Mazda, not biased... but next time you can compare the Mazda CX-5 to the Bentley Bentayga.
LOL re: the Bentley. I assume his dealer group also sells Audi, & they are surprisingly close having driven both, and just reviewed the CX-9. Of course the Audi has more power, etc, but the interiors, driving dynamics, etc are closer than I thought.

Stevie G I guess the stupid one is you that doesn't understand the definition of sarcasm. Also the Q7 and CX-9 are not compact SUV they are MID-SIZE, so educate yourself before you comment. The point I'm making is why not compare a Mazda to a Toyota or BMW to Audi. Plus when you search for luxury MID-SIZE SUV, Mazda is not even on the list. Yeah they both have tires and steering wheel but bad comparison.

Mazda is very nice but my 2017 CR-V has more leg room in the back seat, better fuel mileage and more cargo space than the CX-9 even though the CR-V is in a smaller class of SUV. Plus quite a bit cheaper. But the Mazda is definitely a beauty.

Yes we did. Did you get the newly designed CX5? I don't think it is due out in the states until another month or 2. Going to look more like the new CX9 design. The 2017 CX5's that are at my local dealer are still the older design. I believe it will be designated as 2017.5 or 2017 & 1/2.
Should have compared the top of the line Q7 w/the top of the line Mazda...
Just give me the Audi and I will be sure to take off safely & drive very carefully with appreciation!!!! Dead serious!!!!

I wanted to trade-up from my CX-5 , and looked at one of these in Grand
Touring trim. No pano roof. No vented seats. No heated rear seats. No
heated steering wheel. No 360 camera. Cheep plastic covered sun
visors. Wide center console cuts into legroom. Cargo space much
smaller than the rest of the class. Apparently I'm not the only one
with these gripes, because CX-9 sales have been a huge disappointment
for Mazda. I ended up going with a '17 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T and
could not be happier.

G mail don't need another electronic junk to breakdown. Instead the third gauge on right is fully electronic and displays enough details. Along with HUD its cool as is. In Audi also it is tech package option to add on

I was all in to get this vehicle. I went as far to go the dealer but I wanted a black leather interior instead of this red looking one, I was told not a chance. I even asked if I paid for it as a custom built. Still no😑😠. So the audi seems a better choice in customization. Probably the 2018 model will offer it.
