- The beauty of Italian life - In this video I wanted to share my perspective of a simple life in Italy and the Italian lifestyle in general. My name is Chiara, I am currently based in England but I’m Italian and more specifically from Naples. Being an Italian, I wanted to convey the feeling of the well known Dolce Vita concept. In order to live simple as an Italian you must respect the simple joys in life. Here in Italy, food, simple pleasures and historical beauty is embedded in our culture.
I hope you enjoy this Italian vlog and that it gives you an idea of the Italian life and what it’s like living in Italy.

I was born in Armenia but left when I was young so I have no feelings about leaving. I live in USA now but a few years ago I lived a year in Rome and leaving Rome made me feel so sad and empty. I am counting the days when I can return to Italy and hopefully I never have to leave...

I left Boston when I was 30 and after my parents died, I never went back. I don't like the city, I like living in the country, where I've been now for 34 years. The only thing I miss about Boston is the food, and there were lots of Italian bakeries. My maternal grandfather came to the US from Italy on a banana boat but I never knew a thing about him or where he came from because my mom and her sisters ended up being adopted. I can see why you would miss Naples though - it's beautiful there. You must love your boyfriend very much to move from your home and that lifestyle. Perhaps in the future you will have your turn to be where you'd rather be. Thanks for sharing your visit - your mom's table was so cheerful and happy and I enjoyed the scenery.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video, the city is very beautiful indeed and I always have an explosion of emotions when going back! Your story is very interesting, it was very popular for Italians to emigrate to places like the US in the past, and it looks like that trend is happening again. Chiara, I loved your video! I have been to Naples and I loved it. As chaotic as it is (and you said the same thing about it being chaotic), I really loved it.
I have a similar, but different, experience. I was born and raised in a large California city. My wife and I felt we needed to leave the chaos and problems of a large US city behind and moved to a small city/large town (~ 40,000) in Washington state. It is a nice place. As much as we loved some things about the new place, we missed our home terribly. After three years, we moved back home. Why? So many reasons. We cherished the opportunity to live somewhere different and do not look back at it as a mistake, but we realized that our home is HOME.
I think a difference you experienced may be that you left an already large city, but one with a slower pace of life, to another large city with a faster pace of life. Perhaps that is what you missed the most. Pretty different from my experience.
We all have various loves and needs for where we live, or wish to live. Some people love busy large city life and could never live in a slow, small town. That was my experience. Some people love slower, small town life and could never live in a faster paced large city.
We are all different, and we should respect what is important to others.

This was so beautiful to watch. I loved all the shots and it made me miss Italy so much. I'm originally from Germany, but lived in Rome for two years and now in the US. It's such a different lifestyle and pace of life here. You have a true gift for soft storytelling. 😍

I’m from asia but been living in London for the past 3 years. I totally agree with you. But I also want to so Napoli, it will be the first city in Italy I will visit. Coming from a quiet town near the sea, I feel like I would totally relate to the neapolitan lifestyle.
Every time I see the bridge to my hometown I get butterflies.
