Two months ago I had a breakup with my girlfriend after a several years of really good relationships. This song helped me a lot to get through this nightmare in my life, from which, honestly, I'm not fully recovered still. Huge thanks and respect to Mareux for his art.

I'm completely obsessed by Mareux's entire discography and with this song in particular.
Being a long time fan of musical genres like post-punk, darkwave, EBM and industrial, this could fit perfectly with any synthpop songs from the 80s and with bands like Joy Division, depeche mode, The sisters of mercy, Bauhaus and nine inch nails.
At the same time, I find mareux music to be more originally unique and personal than modern groups who are influenced by the same kind of music
like Molchat Doma or Boy Harsher. There's something deeply melancholic and catchy about his lyrics and sound.

What it actually sounds more like, is actually the cure, before they got into pop, got all happy, etc. All the songs Mareux does is similar to their older style of dark wave.

Today I had a dream where this song started to play right at the end of my dream. The part of the song I remember hearing is from 0:00 - 0:48
In this dream I was maybe a kid again and there was my first childhood friend with me. We were in a toy store and looked at everything and talked about what we wanted to buy for ourselves. There were many old DVD's with cartoons I loved as a child (I clearly remember "Dragon Hunters" was one of those). Also, slimes and dolls. The thing with the dolls was that they were somewhat damaged. I mean hair was cut short and some even looked like they're burned.
This was when I became uncomfortable within the dream (this is not yet the end, the dream goes on for a little bit more).
My old childhood friend was feeling great, even with the creepy dolls. She was smiling and happy. Then suddenly, the dream was cut to a place which looked like the place I grew up in. But not exactly and I was no longer human. I didn't had a body, I was only a pair of eyes with only my voice. I couldn't touch anything. My best friend was gone. Then, a pregnant woman became the center of my dream. She already had one son and husband. For some reason, both of them were worried about her and the unborn baby. In this dream I remember they had animals. A big dog and I think even a donkey. I started to talk to the woman. She was the only one who could hear me. I don't remember what I said to her, but it felt like I was making promises towards her. Like, I will make sure she and her family will be safe, as long as she does what I told her to do. This sounds crazy, but I think I was some kind of devil at this point. I felt like one. This family also looked like some old farm people from a different time, if you know what I mean. Anyways, the mother accepted my offer for protection over her family and this is when I became her. She was now my new body. I started crying all of a sudden. I don't remember why. Her husband and son where working on some field and when I decided to run towards them, this is when the song started to play inside my head. Suddenly it felt like I was running from something I couldn't see or even grasp the concept of it. I felt almost paranoid. The last thing I remember thinking about is sugar. I know, very random... This was my dream. Thank you for reading all of this.
Going to look into what it might mean that you thought about sugar. Might give clues into the area of the brain that was active. 🧐

I'm drowning in my own isolation, there comes a time when I can't get any air. It feels that deep.
Knowing that Christmas is coming while I'm just isolated, depressed, lonely because I have no one to talk to and I don't know how to start reaching out to people.
People say that I don't show any interest in them but that I expect interest from them. That's why I try to work on myself by showing interest to the person. But nothing has changed. Maybe I'm just not interesting or inspiring enough for people to be interested in me. What a depressing reality.
While others enjoy Christmas year after year.
Christmas doesn't feel special because my life felt very strange when my parents divorced. I ended up in a neighborhood where prosperity is poor, which I am not used to at all.
My mother, who is now almost 60 years old, cannot get us out of this sloppy neighborhood because she is an immigrant, so she cannot get a good job, which means she gets paid poorly. At the age of 60, she has to clean with body complaints for a little money. Words can't describe how horrible this makes me feel.
It is expected that I will have to live there for a long time because there is also a housing crisis.
I'm not happy in my life because so much is thrown at me in life. It feels like I've missed so much while in the meantime I'm drowning in my isolating depressing lonely reality day by day, month by month, year by year.
Becoming emotional about whether it is possible to experience the beautiful things in life consistently and that I can find true happiness in my life. That I haven't had for so long, fighting to get through the day.
It's human to feel this way but I don't know how long I can keep this up. It eats me every day.
I fight every day but I wonder if after all that effort the happiness I might get if it was all worth it. I suffer so much mentally that I keep repeating it hoping it will go away, but it won't go away until you do something about it.
It feels hopeless trying when i suffer from so many mental issue's, panic discorder, OCD, Autism, while i have ambitions, questioning myself if i can realize it due to all these obstacles.
Love the manic sad shakiness. And this song is beautiful. Definitely have felt like this before
