In this quick demonstration I will show you how this wattage meter works connecting it to a power station I'm reviewing and the EGO Nexus power station as well very quickly. My goal is to introduce this to you and do a quick demo, I hope this review demo helps you in some way. Links are below as well.

Solar Wattage Meter and Power Analyzer Quick Demo
czcams.com/video/oBGD9QvV7hE/video.html
I made up two short adapter cables from MC4 to an XT90 connector. I bought the 200A version of the meter without connectors for $15. I attached XT90M connector to the output of the meter and a XT90F connector to the input of the meter. I can now plug the output side of the meter into my SoGen and any combo of solar panels to the meter input using the adapter cable to read data from solar panels. The MC4 adapter cable and XT90 connectors cost less than $15 so total came to about $30 with meter. Much easier to connect meter using XT90 connectors and I just leave the MC4/XT90 adapter connected to solar panels.
Thanks for sharing Philip 👍🏼
Using your link to buy one next month!!!! I’ve been searching for this. Thank you so much
Thanks James and let me know how it goes. I had no issues while testing and my power station video is coming out shortly as well. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I've just bought one of these. Branded differently and without the connectors very much cheaper, but I've no reason to believe it's any different. I suspected it had an issue and indeed it does. If it's connected to a panel at night, so the power appears very gradually at dawn, it doesn't start up properly and just shows a garbled display. You have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to boot properly. I'm going to see if I can modify the circuitry to overcome this but they don't make it easy, because inside there are two PCBs with 16 soldered connections between them, and the components facing inwards.
This is partly what I need, but $66+$5 shipping is a little high. Great video, but since I need four of them I'll have to wait until the price comes down.
Thank you
buy the $15 version and change the connectors yourself
On Amazon now for $16 but without the MC4 connectors (unfortunately, short leads, but doable).
So here's a silly question: Why couldn't you just read the wattage coming directly into the power bank from the solar panels vs connecting the meter?
There were situations where you don’t actually have that display such as the Ego power station and other devices so that’s why this comes in handy
Are there any losses using this in line? I would expect maybe a one Watt #1 volt loss, and what is the expected longevity of this item? Could I just hook it up and leave it in line for real time? 24 hour monitoring?
It worked fine for me. I didn’t have any issues. I still have it.
Great video , keep up the excellent work.
Thanks Eric, do you have an EGO Nexus?
@@TechMadeEzy I do and love it.
I am more impressed with releasing tool for the mc4 connectors… nice
Have you ever come across one of these meters which is 'smart'? ie. Bluetooth, zigbee, wifi enabled?
No I haven't
Can you plug the rapid charger or regular charger in the power station and charge one battery while the power station is running off battery power? If so for how long can this last? Hope this makes sense to test put if possible. Thank you.
Hi Duff, if I understand you correctly you're talking about pass-through charging. The ego Nexus does not allow charging the Batteries and using the power station at the same time. Hopefully one day but not today. Look out for my next Power Station review coming up in about a week this unit has passed through charging.
they offer an optional auxiliary power cord with it. It has 3 pins and 3 wires coming out. one is pos and one is neg, what is the third one for?
You got me, haven't used it in a while. Sorry couldn't help on that Tony
Gday mate does the solar panel plug into sauce or load when charging a battery
Hi I don’t understand your question
These are great but I've been trying to search for one that connects to my wifi so I can check my stats / info while i'm not at home using an app. Do you know of any?
Haven’t seen any with connectivity
Tried using this setup with my Ego Nexus and solar charger and it will not charge with it connected in-between the panel and solar charger any ideas I see you have it working fine in the video
Not sure, it was pretty simple to connect, does your solar panel work with your Nexus when this is disconnected?
@@TechMadeEzy Yes it does I have the same setup as the video a 100W Renogy Panel are you using any charge controller that came with the the panel or is it set up panel>watt meter>ego solar brick?
No controller just the solar adapter and the panel, I'd call EGO since they make the controller and see what they say (855) 346-5656
Can I just plug it into my solar panels with out pluging it into my generator will it still work
It should, When you click the link just look over all the specifications
I feel stupid for not knowing what the 2 teeth were on the MC4 tool😅
All good
I plan on using your link to get one of these. Thanks for the helpful video. But before I spend 70 bucks, I do have a question I hope you can answer. I read a review on Amazon that at night when there is no sunlight the screen turns off, thats to be expected. But the next day when the sun comes up it does not start measuring again and has to be unplugged and plugged it back in to start measuring again. Have you experimented with this?
Hi thanks for watching, glad it helped.
I didn’t experience this and I only used them in the day time
@@TechMadeEzy Ok thanks for your quick response. I found that it has an Auxiliary Power Connector. By connecting the watt meter directly to a battery or power source using a futaba j connector. The meter requires a minimum of 5V to power itself. However, if you are using the optional auxiliary power connector, the meter can be powered through the auxiliary source, and measure the complete range of 0 to 60V. Another benefit of the optional auxiliary power connector is that it powers the meter through the auxiliary source. The regular source to load measurements become more precise, as the measurements do not include the small amount of power required to operate the meter. Only 2 of the 3 wires on the auxiliary power connector are used.
pls the is something i notice in this video when the voltage is higher the ampere drops and when the voltage is low the ampere increases, is that normal?
Powerwerx Watt Meter, DC Inline Power Analyzer, 45A Continuous, 12 Gauge with MC4 Solar Connectors
Unfortunately is unavailable.
Why are the connectors on both ends not connected tothe same color wire? Is it mis-assembled?
No just connect them male to female that’s all.
Is it Store memory or giving daywise data?
Not that I’m aware of
Here are the specs

Can u use this meter with a 200 watt solar panel? I plan on getting 200 watt panel with ego solar charger.
Yes it will work fine
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks alot looking forward to charge all my batteries with solar
sir i possible connect to mppt
Yes I believe so
How to connect pls shown to me pls
What if our bank only accepts the barrel style dc port?
They should have barely to Mc4 cables, check with the manufacturer
