Monophonic ride... arrived today. Best cymbal I've played in 20 years of drumming and switching between many brands.
Foundry Reserve for grooving ride and Byzance for crash ride imo. Nice cymbals both!

Enjoyed your video. Both really nice ride cymbols sound but if I had to pick one I would think that the byzance monophonic 22" ride would be the better out of the two especially for jazz because it has that nice slightly trashy jazz type of sound but also good stick definition. That being said, I think if the Foundry Reserve was in the light ride version it would have been a really tough decision to make. Could you please list the Gram weight on each of the cymbols? Thanks.

I liked neither of the rides too much, but the Foundry Reserve is just an overall beast. However, the Monophonic is fitting *your* sound much better, handles faster soft hits more gracefully, and even though I like the FR mkre, it sounded better under your hands! (Just my opinion if course.)

Monophonic ride is the meinl version of the Bill Stewart ride cymbal. It is a superb jazz cymbal. Get one if you love jazz

I think Foundry Reserve suits your drumming style and drum sound best.
Danish pro drummer Morten Lund plays both Foundry and Monophonic. Try and listen to his samba version of Hard Eights on CZcams. He plays only Meinl cymbals.

I think I like the monophonic better but both great so smooth sounding and nice wash.
