Reminds me of the old saying 'you can never go home again'
Sometimes the past is best left locked into a dusty old corner of our brains.
That's an awesome comment. Thank you!
How brave you were to set off by yourself to a new life. Same courage you showed when you left your job to strike out alone. Fascinating video.
The stuff you do when you're young and broke. Every once in a while I get nostalgic, but when I see the places I used to haunt I snap back to reality haha.
I used to live in my car at a truck stop.
You dnt got to explain why u was you when you were younger .. when I was in high school I didn't know or have a clue what I was doing? in a way I still am searchin !! Your past makes you who u are , I'm glad u are the carpetbagger..your videos bring joy and entertain millions ty brother...
I am glad your life got better.
I grew up in Poverty but My grandma made Christmas Miracles and Birthdays Suprises I still have no ideal to this day how she did it. Started working at 15 and been working every since. Humble beginnings just make you appreciate everything you have now and everything in future. It always important to remember where we been so that we can know how far we have came. Thank u for sharing this with us.
I live in South Carolina not too far from Franklin. The mountains of North Carolina are full of good, down to earth folks and the beauty of the area makes life seem worthwhile even if you have to struggle some. Thanks for sharing some of your history!
I rented an Airbnb in Alaska that was listed as a Tiny House but it was really a Shed with a Bed - and I paid a nightly fee for it! It's all good, always grateful to be warm and dry!
this wasn't at Denali was it? IF so, been there, and yes, ut was a shd with beds. Our's had wooden shutters, no screens...Bathroom down the walk a bit... Was warm and dry...
@@JamesAllmond No it was in Juneau!
Memories and experiences all contribute to who we are today.
My boyfriend, of 22 yrs, also lived in a shed!!! No wonder, I think you are too cool!!!
Sometimes we take punches at nostalgia, and sometimes nostalgia punches us in the face. Thank you for taking us down with you along the yellow brick road that is your memory lane.
Thank you for taking us on a journey from where you came from Jacob. ❤❤❤
Sometimes ya have to get outta your comfort zone. Like you I was a drifter for years, finally found my place about 3 years ago in this world and I'm almost 40!
Both of my children and I are also on the spectrum. It's really encouraging to see you have really created and experienced many things that are very relatable.
Jacob, thank you for sharing more of your story. I am still living in the town I have lived in since 1973 and I take rides to where I used to live, I have been feeling nostalgic a lot lately. I actually get goosebumps driving by some houses where they families have passed away. Also the love of my life (passed away in 1982) asked me out on a front lawn on one of the houses that have new people living there. I am so glad you and Jenn found each other!
Greetings Jacob. Thank you for sharing this interesting glimpse into your memories and places you used to live. Love your variety of content and always love when you share stories of your life.
Props to the 6 footer trying to get out of the shot
Jacob sometimes our lives are not the way we would like them to be but it helps us to grow I am glad you are over the really rough patches Thank you for sharing
I am so proud of you! Look how far you've come, and kudos to you for stepping up and giving your son a father. You're awesome dude
Hi Jacob. Glad you were able to get out of shed, and able tp get back in your home. Also leaving y 6:53 our job to make videos, vlogging, was best move you could have made. And you meet Jenn. She is your perfect match. So happy your together. Please keep making utube videos. Also I heard there is new museum in Pittsburgh PA. Called Museum of Illusion. I know you go to that area. I'm a subscriber. Love you and Jenn. 🎉❤❤😊
Awesome video Jacob. I always enjoy learning about people’s lives. It was great hearing some of your origin story, it’s amazing when you look back to see where you’ve come from to where you are today.
We just care about you deeply and wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to you or Jenn is all.😊
Jacob I enjoy watching your life evolve through the years. If you ever wrote a book I know I would love to read it. You're quite an interesting person. 😊😊

I enjoyed your memory lane trip. Glad you walked out on that abusive boss, that takes courage. If you do more videos like this, I’m up for it.
Appreciating you telling your personal story, it's not always easy to do, my father kicked me out when I was 17, homeless and still attending high school, when it comes to surviving, you what you have to do, kudo's
Live and learn as they say...and you did! Thanks for sharing another part of your story.
Thanks for sharing your past...You come a long way...
Good morning Jacob ☀️ thanks for sharing that you lived in places I would not imagine. You take care my friend 🤓📸
I don't see how Anybody could dislike you are so Sweet ❤
Wow, Jacob, you have definitely come a long way and I'm happy for your success. You deserve it!
Jacob I love your videos and you are not alone. You are good ppl!!!
This has been a great video. I grew up in the los angeles area , but I haven't been out there since nineteen ninety two so I can imagine how i'm gonna feel when I get to go back and see the places I grow up
You should be proud of yourself Jacob! Watching your channel grow has been and still is heartwarming to me🥰
You literally did what you had to do at that time. And look where you are now, turned out pretty good I say. 😊
I love these 'walking the path of The Carpetbagger ' style videos, glad your putting out some mixed content while chilling at home-ish lol✌️
I know that people say that changing location doesn’t really change your life. But sometimes I think when you already want to change. That location just really fosters that growth. Because I had the exact same thing happened to me about eight years ago when I moved to Florida. And that was just from Alanta. But all of a sudden I felt like I became my true self. It just fits so much better. no no I was so unhappy before.
it’s crazy to me that, we think people are adults 18 because really until you’re like 25 or 26. You just haven’t lived long enough and experience things in an adult world to really live out on your own. I do the same thing with laughed at 18 but. I feel like it takes longer for people to mature.
also, my family has a house up in Highlands. So crazy. I haven’t seen this area in the country in a couple years. Thank you.
Grew up in Indiana..we had an outhouse and one outlet in the house for cold water...if you wanted a bath you heated water on the stove and poured in a galvanized tub.
It's always interesting to look back and see what needed to happen to get us where we are today. To have your son and daughter and your current life. You never know where you could have ended up.
I love these type of videos Jacob. It’s nice that you let us in to your life the way that you do. I hope you do more home town vlogs. Take care of yourself.
Thank you for letting us see your beginnings of life
Yeah it's interesting hearing about your past. It would be nice to hear more about it, yes.

Hello Jacob. It's great that you're able to go back and let us see where you started from to where you are now.
Definitely do more videos like this. It just shows how far you’ve come in your life.
Thank you for sharing parts of your life. Isn’t it just surreal when you go back to places that you haven’t seen in years and sometimes you wonder oh my gosh how did I get through all of that?
Hi Jacob 👋 have a nice day 😊 my husband and I love your videos 📹
Thank you for taking us, with you, on your nostalgic journey. 😊💜 💜 💜 It is so sweet of you, to let us, get to know the "real you", at a time, when so many people lie, about who they are! A lot of us, come from meager beginnings! I worked so many different jobs, right after high school (Burger King then Montgomery Wards while still IN high school)! I really enjoyed this video, and the story of, where your life started to transition, to adulthood! 😊💜 💜 💜
These are the sacrifices and gambles on yourself people don’t see or think of when they minimize what you do for a living now…making awesome content. That awesome content and unique perspective would not be possible without your past.
I appreciate it
Thanks for what you do!
Awesome video! Glad you get to share your experiences with us! Thank you Jacob!😊
Yeah man this was cool to see your origin story right on.
Love all of your stories! Thank you for sharing with us. It's so nice to look back and remember where we came from and remembering the pains and pleasures we have experienced. So happy to look forward to a bright and wonderful future of making more and more memories ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Jacob the carpetbagger I like your channel and vlogs keep up the good work 😊👍
Greetings from the U.K. Jacob. Adam The Woo has a lot to answer for, because it’s thanks to him and his videos, that I’ve got to know not only Sean Clarke, The Grim Collective and Tampa Jay, but you too. And I thank him for that. All somewhat similar, yet all done differently, with your channel being the quirkiest of them all. A particularly good example is the video you posted a couple of days ago about your wish to purchase a haunted doll. I can’t imagine any of them doing it. Your most recent video ‘I Used To Live In A Shed’ sounds like an episode of Jerry Springer, but it was great finding out more about you and your past. I am now in the process of binge watching your videos and am pleased to say that I’m enjoying every single one of them. I’m definitely looking forward to upcoming Jenny videos with great interest.
That was a fun little tour down Carpetbagger memory lane! 🤗
I knew there was a reason why I love your channel. You lived in a shed just like my hero Bubbles. Thanks for all the Rad content 🤙
❤ your Personality
My boyfriend George was 60 yrs old when he died two February 's ago n when he lived in the shed it had no electric, no plumbing on Lake Erie next to an abandoned house, so he was 57 yrs old when he lived there!! Your situation was WAY BETTER than his, especially since you were so much younger!!! So don't feel bad at all about anything you:Ve ever done!!! P.S. I came back from Michigan after he moved from the shed to a trailer as a roommate with a dude who felt sorry for him cuz it was getting way down in the Fall n he had no heat. After my brother in Michigan I lived with till he died of cancer in October of 2020, then I came back n got George out of the trailer into the apt I am in now since December of 2020, n George died of cancer two years ago in February of 2021!!! So, make the absolute MOST of every minute you have with Jenn, cuz you never know how long you have together!!!
I'm glad you are open about having autism. I myself also have autism and I was the opposite I hated change transitions were very very hard for me and I didn't know how to deal with my emotions until I was in my mid 20's. I'm 30 now and I am doing well even though it's not been a walk in the park.
2:39 whoa… who’s that…😂 even caught my man Jacob off guard… hilarious moment.
I’m so happy for you 😊😊😊
I’m so happy for you that you have been able to make a living doing what you love. Nothing wrong with living in a shed when you’re first starting out. 😊 I really hope that haunted doll isn’t really haunted because it would ruin everything. I am thinking it’s probably just a made-up story but there are real haunted objects out there and they are never, ever good! Blessings to you and your family. ❤
Hi Jacob, thanks for sharing your memories and experiences from your youth. And absolutely yes, please dine at the Dillard House, and please bring us along. : ) You're full of goodness Jacob, and I enjoy seeing all you have to show us. Well done, keep pushing.
Appreciate this video Jacob. You are a good dude! Enjoy life, my friend.
Life is a journey / adventure, thank you for sharing yours, Jacob!
Wow thanks for sharing. Brought back memories when I use to stay at my sister’s in her little cabin. It was nice hearing your story.
I have a nephew in Waynesville. My brother and his wife lived there for the last few years. Small world.
I had many changes in my life too. I lived in very small apartments etc. Finally i got my feet on the ground and went back to school to be a therapist. Best thing i ever did. I had an abusjve childhood and then made lemonade from lemons. Eventually finished school and became a therapist. Now i am retired and live in Italy. So nuce to hear your story. J have alot of strange uncomfortable memories
That Dillard House owner was one of many Americans who think that life is worth living, if you're going to be in a bad mood. During early years of life, we were surrounded by adults who told us that we have to go to school and get a good job. Even though those things cause a person to be in a bad mood on a regular basis. Good for you, for running away from a crappy person like that. You've found a way to lead a positive life every day, and to be in happy moods.
Thanks for sharing 😊👍🙏 I really appreciate you going down memory lane! That was fun! 💜
Such a heartwarming story❤
Thanks for sharing your past with us.
Hey Jacob, Loved the glimpse into the origin of The Carpetbagger!
Sehr interessant, danke für das teilen deiner Erinnerungen mit uns.
You're an Awesome Person Jacob. Love your Video's Blessings and Happiness to You & Jenny ❤
Very interesting backstory to your life Jacob! Hope many adventures await you
I’d love to live in a shed. Cozy and cheap.
Thanks to boomers you’ll only be able to afford a shed.
@@kidfortoday I'm 51 so not technically a boomer but my home is almost paid for. Stop making excuses and blaming others for your life. You aren't going to get anywhere doing that.
Really honest and interesting background to share, much respect! Wish you best in the future
I enjoyed this-thankyou for sharing!❤
This was a great video. Memory lane is okay to visit but too bittersweet to live. I really loved picturing the grumpy neighbor defacing the streets. 😂
15:49 Every mans home is his castle man. Even a shed. :D 25:12 You are the bigger man my friend. We all must grind our pepper until the spice of life is right. :) Thanks for sharing your story my man. As always. Much love too ya.
I personally loved this video. Do what you feel Jacob! 😁
