- It's been over a year since I've performed for the TV show "The Works" (RTHK) in Hongkong and I finally want to share this one-take live recording with you although it might not be my very best take on it :)

How did you feel prior to playing live on tv here and during the performance?I can only imagine very nerve racking! Its easy to doubt yourself in such situations ,you play very well but you are courageous too ,well done ,I dont think I could do it

For those who think "she does not play what is written" (see critics here, e.g. Brian Cullen). I saw a similar comment below a video of Ana Vidovic, not exactly beginner, ahum 😉. I want to add the following citation in favor of Julia and to clarify this for players who are working on the piece. "... Throughout his career, Barrios evolved how he played La Catedral, adding and removing parts, changing fingerings, and renotating entire movements. As a result, *you will find that nobody plays it exactly the same way*, depending on which transcription they are working from and how their preferences shape the bits they incorporate or omit to create their own unique renditions. Part of the joy of listening to or performing La Catedral is the variety of arrangements and interpretations it makes possible, providing something new to discover each time it is played."

Es que esa parte de la pieza en sí, va rápido. Además hay música clásica rápida, no siempre la música clásica es lenta. Además que quiero agregar que cada interprete puede ejecutar la pieza como le guste a el, agregándole sus propios matices, tocándola más rápido o lento. Para mí la ejecucion de ella está muy bien hecha, destaco su forma de tocar tanto sonoramente hablando como técnicamente hablando, está pieza no es sencilla de ejecutar. Para mí está interpretación no le quitó el sentido a la pieza, está bien ejecutada
Si la pieza original es toda lenta, y es tocada muy rápido, si le quitaría el sentido, pero este no es el caso. Además que como te había dicho cada quien puede interpretar como quiera una pieza.
