In this new video, Dylan Desmond (bass, vocals), Jesse Shreibman (percussion, Hammond B3, vocals) and Erik Moggridge of Aerial Ruin talk about some of their favorite records in Evil Greed’s store.
From Mizmor to Primitive Man, from The Body to Yob, these 20 minutes recount the musical tastes of a band that created one of the most beautiful doom albums of recent years.
Bell Witch have, since their inception in 2010, carved out a unique niche in the metal scene, utilizing only bass, drums and vocals to create a mournful, melodic take on minimalism and an ethereal but crushing approach to magnitude. Their most recent LP, “Mirror Reaper” (Profound Lore), was recorded by Billy Anderson and is their most focused, structured and melancholy release to date.
“Mirror Reaper” sees the band explore the more meditative, melancholy, and introspective aspects of their sound through the introduction of long, lonely organ passages and the return of honorary Bell Witch member, vocalist Erik Moggridge (Aerial Ruin), as a prominent presence.
Music played in this video:
Lifesick - Lifesick
Bell Witch - Mirror Reaper
Mizmor - III. The Serpent Eats Its Tail
The Body - The West Has Failed

literally every band on this has picked a record from The Body, that really shows how the metal community is evolving really
They (the Body) are actually referencing Virginia Woolf’s suicide note. The more you know
killer picks from everyone, love that The Body record so much. Hits the feelz like a ton of bricks
Starting with a bang with that Mizmor record. WOW! Great picks all around.
So it's the band Bell Witch talking about their influences, contemporaries and other music projects they like, such as Yob, Amenra, Primitive man, Mizmor, Hof,... Where has this content been all my life??!! Great video guys!
Fun fact: the album title of The Body record they were talking about is actually a quote from Virginia Woolf's suicide note she left for her husband; I believe the "it" she is referring to is her mental illness/suicical thoughts.
Seen this channel pop up twice today, and have been very impressed by the bands so far. Can't wait for more from you guys ;)
Thanks, man. More coming very soon!
