    This is why I love your videos...The details! I think most WRX/STi CZcamsrs are just going for views, so they hype up everything they do, go for big numbers, and don't really give accurate impressions of the actual driving experience. My goals with my car are the same as yours: Improve the driving sensory experience, and increase overall longevity. You may not get the views of more bombastic CZcamsrs, but I for one REALLY appreciate your approach, so THANK YOU.

      I’m glad you see it that way. I don’t care about the views. It obviously helps, but that’s not my motivation. I purely make these for the educational purpose and enjoyment I get out of sharing my journey.

    My wife hates that I found this channel. Had a gc8 (not an sti) until I sold it to buy an R1m. But she got picked up by a girlfriend who had an sti final edition and came home with the “we need to get one of those” grin on her face. Soooo, we’re looking at what’s around and I found your channel and started “the list” lol great vid mate.

    The awe touring exhaust midpipe tapers down to the 2.5 inch to mate to the oem downpipe. If you get one you’ll need an adapter to make it fit right. Also I had a huge problem trying to get the midpipe sleeve clamp style seal work from not leaking. I was never able to get rid of the leak. There is a few videos up explaining the leak and apparently it’s inevitable with that style exhaust. It did however sound amazing and had zero drone. Good luck

I now have a Cobb Titanium kit which blows the AWE out of the water in every way. The only edge the AWE has over Cobb is the lack of drone, which really isn’t much at all.

    • @shooky1092
      @shooky1092 Před 3 lety +2

      Depends on the shop, some tuners strictly only tune. This is rare though, the large majority of tuners also do full builds and everything in between. Most would prefer to do the work because you have to pay them to put all of the parts on and then tune which can get expensive but the tuner will also know everything was done correctly. But most tuners will also just tune your car if you put the parts on but if something isn’t correct you will get charged for what they have to fix it or they will charge you a fee if they have to take it off of the dyno and then put it back on if you take it back.

    Hi Chris love your videos btw. I wanted to ask you I am new to the Subaru family and have a 2020 Sti. My question is can I got straight to stage 3 from stock?

    • @Goodnuggz
      @Goodnuggz Před 3 lety +1

      Yes you can but I absolutely wouldn't recommended it. You should definitely go for reliability mods first. AOS Cylinder 4 cooling mod mishi or koyo radiator. I went with IAG aos and oil pan kit (comes with windage tray pickup and in baffling). I'd suggest that you put your money into these parts first. Keeping your STI cool as possible on hot days and oil moving along with cooling it are crucial. The air oil separater is the first thing you should do with out a doubt. If you're not worried about an engine swap, you can jump right into stage 3. But you'll be spending more money and lots of down time. Doing the 4-5 little things that could really help your motor/motors for the rest of it's life, and is well worth the money spent. But that's just one man's opinion.

      With the 2020 STI, you have the Type RA short block which seems too be able to handle 450+whp no problem. So yes you could easily go Stage 3 with your car and not have to worry about blowing your engine.
      But Stage 3 would void your warranty! If that matters to you.

      @@codyhendrickson7735 Appreciate your response. I have had the Sti for over a year now and honestly the factory tune on these are trash sorry to say. It bogs and it feels like it cuts power when your trying to bang gears. I figure it I do end up modifying it I might as well go stage 3 and commit to it.

      @@Carfanatic916 You could get a E-tune to fix those issues. I've got an e-tune scheduled for next week and it's $250 since I'm basically just a Stage 2 car. But I wanted a good e-tune that's specific for my car rather than to keep using the Cobb Stage 2 OTS map. Going Stage 3 is a going be pretty expensive but it will definitely make your car way more exciting to drive.

      @Scoobyfreak86  Před 3 lety

      Uel header attribute to a lot of heat in that area, but it’s still prone to detonation. El definitely helps remove a lot of the heat, but the cyl4 mod keeps it the same temp as the rest cylinders.
