The camera quality is way better than the samsung Galaxy cameras. I don't like the fact that it lacks Google services. And an earphone port.

Hi there. Dumb question, but how would I side load the normal Google/app suite?
There are no dumb questions
Huawei uses an app called Gbox
And GBox will allow you to side load all Google Apps
Including CZcams, Gmail, Google Suite and Google Search
So you are able to get those apps
You wont be able to use Google Maps because they dont have access to Google Location Services and Google Services.

Yesss, Huawei did say it has a screen protector on and it comes with a clear case in the box

Yes there are alternatives to Google Maps.
You have Waze which is popular or you can use HERE WeGo which Huawei used at some point
