I see some comments arguing on the term blitzkrieg...
just to clarify, blitzkrieg is not a strategy, it is the name given by foreigners to what they, or their allies experienced on the receiving end as a result of the German strategy and therefore the meaning of blitzkrieg dominoes onto the strategy itself, but since the meaning doesn't describe the set of aggressive strategies developed with the new technologies of the time, but is only applied contextually from a foreigner's partial and contextual understanding of the execution it isn't entirely correct to say that "Blitzkrieg" was "A" strategy, let alone "The" strategy implemented by the Germans. In fact it was never "the strategy" mainly because German military never called their strategy blitzkrieg and it was an entirely media driven/intel driven foreign term... vaguely similar to the concept of "strafexpedition" with the difference that the latter is much more intensive and precise in what it represents.
While we could elaborate on the different meanings Blitzkrieg assumes, it is incorrect in all circumstances to say blitzkrieg was "The Strategy". Even though it is an effective way of communicating what you mean in a colloquial context, it is formally wrong because of the mismatch between what the strategy was and what it refers and referred to.
