This is probably just me looking too deep, but the main villains being wolves, which are in shades of grey, showing how they’re not total monsters, and the mc’s main color being red, which is almost always associated with evil and represents power is just so fitting

I can't tell why, but the fact that the little girl is represented to have curly white hair makes me love this even more because it reminds me of a sheep, a lamb, which are usually associated with purity or innocence being a bit ironic to the fact she is associated with evil

She also has a red dress, and red is usually associated with blood and violence, so it is as if she was initially innocent, but then she chose to be more violent instead of retaining said innocence.
also she starts out being hunted by the wolves, furthering the association with lambs and innocence
Also, at 1:34, the background of the food chain gets progressively darker red, , and the pictures inside go from a white rabbit (symbolizing goodness), to a grey wolf (showing that it is closer to the innocence of the rabbit to evil, that as an animal, it has no truly intentions), then there is MC, but then there is something darker, further up, showing that even she has some goodness left in her, that there's always something worse.

@@thegeneralvilla2784 I thought the wolves were meant to represent the shifting views in the story? Like the father wolf was actually just trying to feed his family, which is different from how Little Red sees him, and her Grandma who she trusts tries to kill her, changing the way she sees her

i love the ending so much. even though we the viewers were already exposed to how grotesque this little red riding hood are, the end where she was hunched over herself looked so pitiful. makes you shiver on how looks can be deceiving.

This has to be the most imaginative and my favorite animatic of all times. It's such a genius retelling of the story of Little Red Riding Hood shows with no clear good or bad guy. You've managed to take such a simple story about an innocent girl learning not to trust strangers (the wolf) where good and evil are set in stone and instead put a twist on it that I could never have thought of in a million years. It isn't what you would expect such as Riding Hood =bad and wolf=good. It's the more interesting third option that it's neither *and* both. My favorite part of the animatic is the change from drawing real pictures and the purpose behind it.
Throughout the animatic it was established that real pictures were a sign that the narrative/narrator/Red Riding Hood was distancing herself from certain characters like in 0:57 where we don't see the drawn wolf we've seen hunting Red Riding Hood but a picture of a wolf. And in 1:15 where we assume that Red Riding Hood is cutting apart the wolf and cooking him we see a picture of a real wolf once again.
The wolf looking extremely realistic in the beginning when hunting Riding Hood but after learning that he was a husband we see his family in the same art style as Red Riding hood which somewhat humanizes him to us. After Riding Hood arrive to her grandmother's house she's immediately suspicious thanks to the dog's barking trying to warn her of the danger that is the wolf's mother disguised at her grandmother. After seeing her real dead grandma hidden in the closet she tries to act quickly but the wolf's widow manages to hit her first, Red Riding Hood manages to get the axe away from her "grandma" and she uses it. From her expression we see it's not just self defense, she doesn't do it because she HAS to but because she WANTS to. 2:30 The mother wolf unable to move from the chair twitches but Riding Hood keeps slicing through her with an axe repeatedly. 2:38 I find this moment to be the most chilling part of the entire animatic. It's the same hand that belong to the wolf (at 2:29) but now it's human.. it's a REAL HUMAN HAND. It makes the message really hit so much harder with this singular frame that lasts no more than a second but it just basically tells us the story. Showing the widow wolf's hand as *a real picture* and *human* symbolizes so much more with all the information we got prior to this scene. The human hand shows that in a way the wolf was human. Like the real fairytale wants you to believe the human(Little Red Riding Hood) is good and the animal(wolf) is bad. It shows you the wolf's motive, she had a family and a husband that didn't come home because of Little Red Riding Hood so you can very easily sympathize with her wanting to take revenge. But the reason it's a real hand is because it just doesn't matter anymore. The story will never be hers to tell. Red Riding Hood won and she gets to tell that story as her being the hero and nobody will ever know the wolf as anything more than a *villain.*
This has been my favorite animatic of all times and I come to rewatch it every few weeks the sinister atmosphere never fails to give me chills with such a perfect song choice. I really do hope you make more animatics because your storytelling abilities are just brilliant.

Your usage of mixed media is utterly gorgeous and it has deeply inspired me. I always want to incorporate photos into my artworks but didn't quite know how to go about it, so seeing this is such a breath of fresh air. You have a very unique style of art, color mixing and storytelling that is honestly so lovely to see. I'm a sucker for inverting expectation and retelling fairytales and myths from a different perspective, and your version of Little Red Riding Hood is one I have never thought of before - it not only stays true to the message of the original Villain by Stella Jang, but also serves as a stark reminder that reality is hardly ever black and white, and that everything is so complicated sometimes. The background where the mc kills the wolf has a red sky, entirely white snow covered ground, and pitch black trees, showing how black and white she sees the world when she kills the presumed villain, who is grey (not completely bad, not good) and her main color is red, which is associated with not only villainy but power
I legitimately thought this was an official music video, it seems so professional I love it, all the color palette, the animation, the collage, the storyline, this is true art.

Litterally 1:20 is fucking gorgeous animation. Every part of the dance, every angle for it's duration is immaculate
When I first saw this back a too many months ago on an old account. It was only around 90-100ish thousand views. That is still a lot, but it still really surprised me because this is too much of a lovely masterpiece that deserves attention more than it was given at the time. I'm really happy this is pulling in more views. This literally inspired me so much and made little red riding hood my favorite fairytale due to perceptive and take on it. How we truly are all villains, no matter if you're the protagonist or the antagonist. This video is really poetic and after several times of watching it I was able to finally figure everything out. To simply skim this animation with a naked eye is a sin.
I like the implication that Red Riding Hood's own mother sent her to her death (grandma wolf) using cake delivery as a front.

The first one is relatively straightforward: Little Red is delivering a cake on her mother's orders, killed a wolf on her way, and the wolf's wife sought revenge by taking the place of Little Red's grandmother to ambush her, only to be killed by Little Red as well.
The second is that Little Red's grandmother is actually just a wolf in human disguise, and her own mother delivers her children to the grandmother wolf as tribute (which is why Little Red saw a body similar to her own in a room when she arrived at her grandmother's house, she's not the first to be sent here). When she kills her wolf grandmother, Little Red can't help but be reminded of the wolf she killed on her way through the forest, thinking about how that one must have had a family like her own grandmother.

I just realized that when it says "The person that you love the most Could be a dog of someone else" first they show us the house of the grandma, and then a dog, meaning that the dog was a representation of the grandma and also a warning to the red riding hood, that's why the wolf disguised looks at the dog in a menacing almost deadly way (bc she killed her and took her identity, obviously)
Oh my God the animation is amazing!! The story-telling, story-boarding, use of drawings/real-life photo composures--it's brilliant!! This is stunning!! It's fascinating to see the subtle use of black, white, and red colors with the equivalent of evil being put into black-and-white terms, but actually being the complete opposite of it's visuals because of it's complicated nature as described in the video. That little reverse meaning was really clever! And the red representing the blood being spilled. So detailed, but so clever in what it's trying to convey. This was so interesting to watch. Definitely earned a sub, and I look forward to seeing what new creations you make!!
The diverse use or material with stuff like real objects , realistic heads with simple bodies, read hands, and the use of composition while making sure there is not a lot of dead space to just fit everything is truly genius

No one noticed the little glance of grandmother to the dog when she try to get riding hood come in the house ?!! That white dog is not just only fits the music but also to reveal mother wolf’s face under the cover. Such brilliant dog and animation too

i love the story, the little red ridding hood thing is so creative, also its the first time ive seen an animation/animatic that uses like a collage of art mixed with drawing and its really cool and refreshing!
You know, I feel like im somehow missing something. At the start you have Red kill the wolf and eat it, and it's implied that the wolf's pack suffers because of that. She is most likely unaware of this however, and for her she probably saw the wolf as a real threat to her, and whether or not it actually was intending her harm is a different matter, and in the end doesn't matter. Its all wonderfully moraly grey, with neither side in the full right, but survival is never a black and white matter.
Then in act 2 its more complicated. While her grandmother does turn into a wolf, she transforms back after dying. To me that implies that the grandmother was never a wolf to begin with, rather it really was Red's grandmother trying to murder her. The wolf transformation seems more symbolic then. This then brings into question why the grandmother wanted Red dead. And why the mother is only seen once - when she brings in the cake - and seemingly disapears from the house all together.
Was it that the mother was never there, and was long since dead (having perhaps died when Red was little)? Would yhat mean the Grandmother's motivation is that she blames her daughter's death on her granddaughter?
Yeah I was wondering that too, the dog barking had to be the grandma trying to warn her so maybe they switched forms?
I saw it as the wife of the wolf killing the grandmother(remember the severed head we saw) and disguised herself as her in order to kill Red as revenge for the death of the wolf at the beginning. The hand may symbolize the fact that the fake grandma wasn't a full monster, she had humanity behind her(she's doing this as revenge for her loved one, if I'm correct)
This is a creative, stylistic masterpiece of an animatic! I didn’t even think of how far the artistic possibilities of animatics could be taken until this spectacular vid!!

For those who don't understand (little red riding hood that you've heard (here) is an alternative dimension where little red riding hood hunts the wolf and it's whole family when she founds out her grandmother is also a wolf and kills her by seeing what was in the basket and the food(the food came from a human) that's why there was a body of her because she's also a human

Going back to rewatch this animation once again! COZ this is just too good!!! It's so simple yet so direct and creatively expressive. The use of mixed media and styles for an effective storytelling - is. just. insane! I'm here to inspire myself, to bring out my own creative juices for my own passion project. And then I'm wondering abt the ending again, coz... it's just like what someone mentioned, everyone is a villian for each other, and a hero for themselves. But think of it, the ending could have made the girl a hero for killing the mother wolf but in the midst of the child's killing rampage, the wolf reverted back to the skin of the grandma (her paw turning to human hand at the end) and let's hypothesize that the policeman went there and first saw a human body instead, would he suspect the girl even though the girl would say that the dead is actually a wolf? Looking back, there may be doubts at first but will eventually believe the girl coz remember, the grandma's corpse is still intact in some room, they'll discover it pretty soon and believe the girl in the end. But it's like the beginning of the end. Coz they may have seen the truth and justified the girl's defense... the seed of doubt has been sprouted. And from the overall perspective, the girl is the real villain, not by choice of survival, but there's always the hint of pleasure seen when she's doing her actions. She's naturally evil that always seeking out excuses to justify her actions. Especially with the wolf, she could have just killed it simply and left, but she ate him. She doesn't necessarily needed that considering she could have other means to eat... her actions have some level of pettiness to eat, I'll eat u since u wanted to eat me. An eye for an eye kinds thing. anyway, this took long, and there may be some points that i haven't worded right so i apologize. here are my thoughts.
