  • In this video, I try my hand at forcing a patina on my Moarkniv Companion.
Items needed: mustard, apple cider vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, a funnel, a mason jar, paper towels, q-tips, and a small dish.
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy!

After vinegar patina then use mustard patina and you will see your desired result.

I had similar results with mine, except slightly blotchy (white vinegar) and tried to get darker with instant coffee soak, but it only got darker in the areas that were already the darkest. There’s a terrible smell with that too. I’m using your apple cider vinegar method at the end to hopefully get back to a more even color.

you can add lasting stripe design using saltwater , 9v batt, and a q-tip after using vinegar patina

Mustard is "nasty"? I suppose you put ketchup on your hot dogs? Lol. Here's a little tip, you can use ketchup on your knife if you don't have any mustard. It works just as good. Did you try the mustard after the cider dip? I wonder how if that would do anything.

You did it backwards. Do the ACV first then do then mustard. Leave the mustard twice as long as the vinegar. So the patter will show.

Do we have to boil the ACV?
