You'll be surprised how many years go by before the songs that didn't get a lot of attention end up becoming increasingly popular for different reasons like appearing in commercials, or video games, the theme song to a television show or a movie etc.

I just discovered this song and am SHOCKED that this was not more wildly played?!?! IT’S AMAZING
One thing to remember is that just because a music video is not viewed a lot nor played a lot is not all about the quality. There are plenty of music videos that have excellent music that aren't viewed much, nor upvoted much and the other way around. I know songs of some music videos, I'm sure you would find awful, but have over 30,000 upvotes and literally not one dislike.
I'm not in her demographic, 52 yo male in Idaho, but I love her stuff. I first started to listen to her music about 2 years and am glad I did. Her music style reminds me of the time I was in college and just brings good memories back to me. When I saw the notification on my phone about this video, I turned into a teen again and proud of it!!
You aren't alone there bud. 42m here and the last album she had was so 80s sounding and her music in general is much more pleasing than anything they call "Top Hits" these days. She's just a breath of fresh air and talented as all end!

It's October 2020, and before yesterday all I knew of Jepson was "Call Me Maybe". Then on a whim I checked out a bunch of her music videos and a live concert, with this being the last song I heard. Blown away! Very underrated. New fan!

Carly did when she got famous from Call Me Maybe but it's hard to stay famous because the competition is stiff, right now there's Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Meghan Trainor, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez most of them were already well known before Carly. She's starting to get attention now because of this song but it won't be as big as that Call Me Maybe song because that was at the time when people in the States didn't know who she was and she got attention because of Bieber who was already famous before her. Even though I'm not a Bieber fan, I thank him for getting that song popular, otherwise we wouldn't be Carly fans right now.

It's a shame her songs like "Run Away With Me" "Your Type" and "Let's Get Lost" don't get played. The only thing I heard after Call Me Maybe was I Really Like You, which got some attention because of Tom Hanks in her video but not as much as Call Me Maybe did.

Carly Rae Jepsen isn't a one hit wonder, she already had an album made before Call Me Maybe called "Tug Of War" but it was only released in Canada at the time. Her songs "Sour Candy" "Tug Of War" and "Bucket" were very popular there. "Call Me Maybe" was just her more popular song but that's not her only one, it wasn't even the first one.

I gotta say; I liked "Call Me Maybe" the first few times I heard it, but I got over it quickly, as her thin, little-girl pipes didn't seem to fit the arc of the song (despite her having written it). I forgot all about her for a spell; then she hit me HARD with "Run Away With Me" (drop-dead catchy), "Higher" (dear God), and now this...!!!! BRILLIANT! She hit with a trifecta of super-melodic pop perfection, and God...is this ever perfect. So, why did we sleep on this? Had radio and listeners supported her more, she could be in the same league as, say, Taylor or Adele. Instead, because we Americans are utter morons, we let her career die. Bugger. Shit...I almost forgot about "I Really Like You". THAT should have been huge too. Oh; radio listeners; I IMPLORE you to get her back on the radio. She deserves another hit the size of "Call Me Maybe". She really, really, really, really, really, really, does.
