On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Video suggestion: dogfight in a scenario where you have to find your opponent in some mountainous terrain, so that you have an extra element of realism
Did a video like that not long ago, a good idea though maybe will revisit.
@@GrowlingSidewinder I've been hoping to see more scenarios like this. I don't think dogfights usually start with both aircraft near minimum speed. Bleeding the initial energy with which opponents merge is crucial to most scenarios.

Those cat-and-mouse videos are great. You can even try things like 2v2 but everyone spawns spread out, even teammates. Or, like I mentioned in a previous video, a three-way battle where each one is against everyone else. No AWACS and no SAMs, just pure hunt.

F35 would defo get smoked, the hornet can pull 55 degrees of AOA, I doubt the F35 can pull anywhere near that. However if the hornet were fitted with the older 9m while the f35 could keep its 9x, it would be a bit more interesting.

This raptor model does not have actual vector thrust.. it does not turn nearly as tight as the real thing.

@@kimchi2780 Su-35 has amazing maneuverability, so I doubt it's really that much OP. This is an uncomfortable fight for F-22 tho, and it's not what it primarily was designed to do.
@SuperMyacc they have lost 6 already. They are air show toys. The issue is the probably of anything getting close enough to a SU35 for it to try its tricks is low. Also, the F15 has proven being a 1 trick pony won't work. The better radar and better weapons will win everytime in today's battlefield.

Every time I see one of these ultra close up dogfights with each pilot taking hip shots and waiting for the other to slip up I feel like I'm watching the fight between Achilles and Hector in the movie Troy. Both are excellent at their craft and someone will not be walking away from the encounter.

It would be cool if you alternate jets. Or you do one round of 3 (or 5) in the F-22 then do another round of 3 or 5 in the Su-35.
Two kills by hiding in the sun is more of a good pilot kills than a superior plane.

I really enjoy the multi-angle highlight reels at the end of the rounds. Gives a chance to really appreciate the wild stunts both aircraft and missiles are pulling to claw for victory.

You should set up dogfights like they do in the military. The Raptor has everything set up against it. For instance, the enemy had AWACS, and patriot sites and the Raptor has only two 9X's and guns. The Raptor has to start with non-ideal conditions such as merge at Mach 1.6 (supercruise) and the red air gets to choose. Make it very hard from the getgo for the raptor

You should do the F-35 in a BVR/CAS/SEAD role to really show what its capable of. The f-35 is actually a remarkable aircraft and I think it should be given us due.

We've got some interesting things coming out of Boeing in the next 10ish years. If you think the F22 is crazy (which it is) the Ngad and replacement for the F18, is going to blow your mind.
Again, there'll be competition and we're hoping the multi-platform Ngad can fulfill our expectations and move forward.

The sun trick is an old one for us Iranians. Our archers used to do that.
Forcing a merge with the F-22 is like telling a gunfighter to holster his weapon and tie one arm behind his back for a close-range knife fight.
Video Suggestion: After doing a mission, do a strategic review of it with tacview and do a walkthrough of your thoughts and actions
Cool to see that last Fox-2 while in a flat spin. Maverick should have tried that.
Just goes to show those early tactics from WWI still hold true. One of the rules learned even way back then was to attack out of the sun. It's not a new trick, it's reading your history books.

It is interesting how the nozzles of the Su-35 are splayed outwards a little bit, I wonder if that's like running toe out instead of toe in on a race car, it helps initiate the turn more quickly?

As i write this theres over 200 comments so i doubt you will see this but I really enjoy the vids where u have a mission to complete. And can showcase the stealth aspect of 5th gen air. Seeing what its like to get kills before they even know they are dead is pretty cool
