Could you create a gamemode featuring two balls: one that provides the boost and another that you must score with? Would be a fun concept :D
My idea for this is a normal ball, but also a non-scoreable "boost" ball in each corner. So you have to keep track of where a ball is to get boost or you can literally boost steal by knocking boost balls away from opponent's side. You could even pass the ball to your teammate so you both get boost.
I literally came down to comment this

I think this could be a real game mode, but instead of using slow boost recharge there are only small boost pads.
It would be cool to experiment with the ball contact giving you slow/fast recharge rather than instantly full boost, that way it would be beneficial to hit the ball, but also good for aerial plays

This is great, we need more Sunless collabs.
When I first started watching Rocket League on CZcams, Sunless was one of the first ones that I regularly frequented. It's actually how I discovered Leth in the first place with one of his Guessing rank Videos, and now I'm hooked on here for the daily uploads with my favourite RL CZcamsr. (Part of it is definitely the Ontario Rep)
Sunless is a very close second now, though.
Edit for idea:
Would you be able to make the ball one team sided only? Could open up a lot of 1v3 stuff with you getting boost on ball, and 3 needs to get pads.

Idea; boost is randomly put around the map, it could be floating, in the walls, the floor, or the roof. The boost could also be invisible in later games so it's harder.

YES! One step closer to 3D Sideswipe! Now we just need instant 180 air roll, and there can be turbo stall chains in Rocket League. Can also make it so that there's no boost pads, but being on the ground, walls, or ceiling slowly gives you boost

Video Idea “if you haven’t done this already”. Big boost pads enable a turn on switch in which your car stays boosting (like the rumble power up), until you run over a small boost pad, which drains you of boost completely. Basically on/off switch with big pads and little pads.
This is the dream game mode for freestylers

Idea after watching this - there’s 2 balls on the field, one recharges your boost, and one is the normal ball you score! So one team can hog the boost ball if they want

Imagine a mirror mode where you flip the entire arena horizontally, creating a mirrored version of the game where left is right and right is left, adding a twist to traditional gameplay.
Something like this would be great practice for staying close to the ball with low/no boost.
