Thanks for Review the darts!
I like Lukes darts, simple and short. Off topic but I've always wondered why they refer to this shape of dart (front loaded) as a torpedo shape. If you look at images of torpedos they more closely resemble a straight barrel dart. I've heard it called a torpedo shape since I started playing in the 80s. I guess it doesn't matter since we all know what a torpedo shaped dart is even though it isn't a really accurate descripton.
I have never understood that too and done exactly the same thing, looked online at real torpedos lol a lot of the shapes I guess had to have something to name them but over the years they have changed so much I dont think they know what to call them so just lump them all in with one style.
Great review, I bought the 24g last month and love them. They do take a bit of time to warm up for the grip, I use grip wax to start off with. I'm pretty sure Luke uses this set, RD said he does in a recent promo video with Clayton and Price, as they wanted to make a dart he would use. It's a shame RD don't make stems he uses as well 👍🏼🎯
Thanks Ashley! My hands dont seem to have the same natural grippiness as they used to have, must be because I am getting old lol Glad to hear these are what he using though :)
Top review as always. My type of barrel and ideal length. But really, short stems with these is absolute madness!
Thanks Luke 👍
Started using the medium nitro tech stems and like them a lot so far. Great flight retention with the alloy tip.
Great to hear!
Just ordered these I need a front loaded dart and this is perfect
Love them stems... Thank You...
It's a shame that RD didn't put a new picture of him on the packaging. He looks so much better and healthier now.
Also I think he actually started using these. He definitely doesn't use the old darts anymore
Yeah that picture is from about three years ago before he lost all the weight!
not sure if he is using them or not to be honest, would hope so if they are selling them as his after people complained about the last ones not been what he was using :)
Bit of grip wax and you're on your way to the big leagues Darren!!! Awesome review as always mate 👍👍
Cheers mate! :)
Great review as always. Big Luke Humphries fan and tried these darts but they were way too smooth for me, i was really interested in seeing your grip level rating on these. Thanks
Cheers mate! Yeah they are almost like a smooth dart really :)
Another great review! I have been looking forward to these darts coming out from Red Dragon darts. Can’t wait to give them a throw and see how 22G darts go
Nice one! :)
@@DartsReviewChannel Question, given these darts are quite chunky would they fit in a darts case, like the Mission ABS case, Red Dragon Monza case, Target Takoma wallet?
@@tobygrisdale7385 should be fine
@@DartsReviewChannel great! Thought I would check, thanks 👍🏻🎯
i was looking for something like this(preferably with smooth nose ) found on darts clearance 95% 21g darts just couple mm shorter but excellent £35 for 2 sets!!!!!
Sounds great!
It's a lovely set of darts these ones. But I don't know if they have enough grip. Good review as always
Thanks Glenn, I dont think they have enough grip for most, its almost like a smooth barrel really :)
Great darts👌 perfect in length for 4 fingers grip. If RD team can incorporate double scallops (razor edge xtreme style) & retain Humphries length of dart, it would be great set
great looking dart great review Darren those darts seemed to be ur style smashing the treble with them. i think you could be a natural rear gripper mate haha! happy darting
LOL thanks! :)
It is frustrating that all these player darts do not come provided with similar setups as the player, at least provide long stems
They should but they hardly ever do!
Completely agree
It’s so you buy more though
I reckon lol
Agree and can't buy those long flights.
Darts clearance on eBay do long stems btw
Nice darts. Much more like the ones he uses but agree with comments that manufacturers should provide the players set up. How hard can it be?
Not that hard I wouldn't have thought unless they are using some stems not of their brand?
They look like the ones he’s throwing to me , perfect dimensions for me , similar to my match darts shot zen dojo 21g easy to throw , great video
Thanks! Yeah a few have said its the ones he is throwing now, which is good :)
Just bought his other set. The blue with the grey on them.
Nice dart. I tend to gravitate to the straighter barrels.
They seem to fly nicely for you!
They do, think its just the short style more than anything :)
Nice darts brilliantly reviewed as always Darren. Trebles from the rear again nearly a 180 again good arras 👍🏻I bet your dad's happy you stem smasher you lol 🤣 What was Rocky the main stars 🌟 verdict? 🎯 happy darting 🎯
Thanks Vic 😊 Rocky likes more grip🐕👍
Nice looking dart for sure, love to give these a go. They seem more subtle front weighted than the Aspinall's?
Yeah very subtle 🙂
Got the 24g and they fly lovely with the short stem they come with, tried the longer stems but lost the balance for me although I found putting flights on the Nitrons harder than the Kripton factor
LOL yeah thats why I dont like alloy stems and tops
How did you get them on because one of the flights is all scuffed at the bottom from trying to get it on
@@cherryanne2058 try and line the flight up with the slits, it’s not easy and took a while
Hi Darren,
Cool video as usual. I have been discussing with darts friends this week and we all want to try different setups but don’t know how to evolve from our current one.
Would you be interested in doing video on guidelines/hints of shapes and lengths of barrels for instance to try? Something like a starting point
Cheers
Thanks mate! I think the problem is that no setup will behave the same way for everyone which is why finding what works best for you is a bit of a trial and error process. Best thing to do really is get a mix of stem lengths and flight shapes and try each. So extra short, short, inbetween and medium stems and all the usual flight shapes like pear, kite, slim, small standard and normal standard. Then just play with them and observe how your darts fly but bear in mind that the shape, balance, length of the dart will also have an affect on the way it flies with each set up.
@@DartsReviewChannel totally ! No one can predict which configuration will suit which player.
In terms of stems length and flight shape, it’s relatively easy to do those trial and error as it’s cheap. You basically select a brand that does lots of variants and get a set of each.
Now for the barrel shape, would you advise to try at least straight barrel, front loaded (bomber), and rear loaded ?
Am I missing any shape that is worth exploring ?
@@clementafonso yeah straight is probably the most common style, front loaded and rear and also the ones that are wide in middle and taper front and rear, kind of like a flattened rugby ball there is also darts that have scallops and short or long and thick or thin but thats more something to try when you are getting near to liking a certain shape :)
@@DartsReviewChannel thanks again !
So that’s great content for a futur video maybe 😅
I’ll try them all
@@clementafonso yeah if I ever get any spare time lol
Obviously the short barrels suit u the best. Cheers
Yeah often they do :)
Love these darts
Have you got a set?
@@DartsReviewChannel yes 🙌 bought them the day they released
@@Timesend Nice one! :)
Cheers for the review and a very reasonable price even better with the 10% off
No problem! :)
Nice darts those.
not bad, a bit low on grip though :)
Sometimes the simple things are the best…… looks a straight forward does what it says on the tin darts…. Lovely
yes that true, I am simple so there ya go lol!
It's a nice simple dart. Reasonably priced. I was really looking forward to them cause the previous model was nothing like what the player actually uses. Now that my wish has come true, I feel just a little disappointed with them being a bit on the short side. Well anyway, you cannot please everyone. Thanks for the review!
Yeah they are short, but if thats what the player uses then to be expected, probably why he uses long stems though :) Cheers! :)
thanks for showing this set
very basic kit
I don't have a set of this brand yet
will also buy a few sets from this brand
but not the set you're reviewing right now
great review as always
No problem Peter! :)
@@DartsReviewChannel could you review the jocky wilson originals in 22g please?
@@tonysoprano9370 I did the ghost grip ones in 22g
👍
Would be a nice barrel style for my throw!
Good :)
I like a grippy straight barrel so these are not for me .... but that is me !
What I do not understand is why is aluminium being used to hold the dart ? As soon as a dart gets Robin Hooded the grip of the flight is going to be knackered . I used to play with Slim Jims which had a 4mm internal thread ( not a 2BA ) for completely aluminium shafts ( there were no alternative materials available ) . Eventually the ally shafts became unobtainium or so badly made that they did not screw in and I had to find a new dart with a 2BA thread ( violin sounds in the back ground as I loved the Slim Jim darts ) . I used to have to replace the Slim Jim shafts on a daily basis because of opened up flight slots . Ever since I have not used ally shafts ( which also need rubber anti vibration rings fitted ) and have tried to choose designs which are more durable and cheap if possible . Sorry for the rant , but I hope this may be of use .
On that note Daryl , could you suggest the best shafts or do a video on that subject please ? Maybe Carbon , Titanium or cast iron I dont know !
Thats why many dont like alloy stems, including me lol
@@DartsReviewChannel Ta for the reply .
Seriously though I am at a loss of what direction to go in for shafts . There must be quite a few foot pounds , hundreds or maybe thousands , of impact when a dart point hits anything . So I reckon its best to realise no material will survive and robin hood , so choose a cheap , throw away material . So is there a carbon , chosen for lightness and stiffness with a replaceable nylon flight holder on the market ( or similar ) . Otherwise those Condor shaft/flights might be the way to go . Trouble is Condors work out at £30 ish when you realise you need at least one spare ! That is a whole season's , at least , in more traditional nylon stems and flights .
I joined your online community , so I will search for people opinions there . Cheers Darren .
@@davidyendoll5903 I think for most people the cheap nylon stems are still best, if it was not for the likes of Condors I would probably stick to my old nylon Deflectagrip stems :)
@@davidyendoll5903 Nice one! :)
You look great in that shirt! 😂😂😂
LOL Ready for the Tour De France! :)
I’m still a question mark that Luke H did get invited to PL, but that’s a other topic.
I just dont find the PL as exciting to watch as when it was in its early days really
These darts look very similar to the early Winmau Simon whitlock from 2010
Thats because he used them
Did RD really put "designed by Luke Humphries" on the packaging??They're having a laugh!!!! I've had a set like those since the eighties i think, lol.Nothing wrong with the darts though.RD quality, simple dart, can't go wrong.
They did lol! :)
@@DartsReviewChannel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I could throw these but in a few grams heavier and maybe without the beehive cuts to the nose of the dart.
Worth a try if you like a short dart :)
@@DartsReviewChannel My Harrows bomber are short and I'm getting on good with them . Never know till you try something I guess 🙂
First for Humphries.
Should I get the tx2 or tx3
Have you got the TX1
No, but I really like how both the tx2 and the tx3 look, and I also like that the barrels are a bit shorter@@DartsReviewChannel
Well TX2 looks like it has more grip if you need more that is
@@DartsReviewChanneldo you know if the barrel would work well with Harrows carbon 360 stems and L style fantom flights?
@@bha.ferguson2228 yes they work with all 2ba stems
They're very similar to Leighton rees darts.
yeah :)
Nice simple dart with good price .
yep :)
@@DartsReviewChannel works good for you as youre a natural rear gripper lol 🎯
@@DartsReviewChannelas i like short barrels maybe il get a set of these .
Not my type of dart but Red Dragon are still quality darts.
What style do you prefer?
@@DartsReviewChannel I prefer Shot darts, so something a bit more colourful & even more grippy.
Player darts not the same and then sell them with not the same stamps Luke is using. I say a rip off
I think he actually started using these darts. He definitely doesn't use the old darts anymore
These are he’s barrels , stems and flights not the same though. The barrels looks so different on tv , the camera make the segments looks giant and the darts small
