I think the most refreshing aspect of this series was definitely the fact that Black and White were mixed together amongst various social classes as if there is no difference between the two (as it should be and should have been all along) - this is how everyday people view each other... meaning, when we look at a person, we don't see color, we see another human being!

I paid on Netflix to watch the two seasons of "For the People" because I missed it in 2018-19. Rege-Jean was very good, I thought, and had some really powerful scenes -- I've read that the producer(s), maybe including Shonda herself, already had him in mind as the Duke because of that series. If you want to see it, I think you go to On Demand.

I’ve binged it twice and am on my third. I love that Black’s and other minorities, were equal in this pieces time period... As a child I easily imagined myself in these movies during that eras history (I’d started a novel years ago on this subject matter...).
I’m of a rather mature age now and still enjoy a great flirtatious, heart pounding romantic escape.
In my youth the Duke would’ve been my quiet challenge. While all the girls were swooning all about him, I’d been within eyesight, some distance away waiting for him to come to me.
I never was one for chasing the cat, but I was quite comfortable being the respectable young woman holding the cheese😊
This series had everything, I hope she/they come up with another one💝
