This Beautiful 1890's Gothic Revival Home In The Country Was Mysteriously ABANDONED!

- In this episode of Urban Exploring, I will be taking you for a tour through this absolutely beautiful looking 1890's Gothic Revival style home. This beautiful home is located in the middle of the country, in an area that is still quite secluded and remote even though a couple major roads run near-by. Inside, the home retains many of its original features and qualities, even though it has seen some slight modern renovations over the years (not recently). For one reason or another, this home was suddenly abandoned and now sits in limbo with no future plans for the home or property. Join me for a tour of this BEAUTIFUL relic from the past!

I bet this one was hell on the wallet to heat, it has a furnace AND electric baseboard heat. A well used farmhouse all through it's years but a major strip and an authentic renovation would be nice.

Wow such a beauty 😍 That tree is something else. Nice crates . nice barn too. Those windows would be something back then. Hi Greg again I watched this a month ago I'm rewatchng it cause its in the line-up and not to afraid to comment now 🤗😂 Love the brick work. Like the sink. The trim. The baseboards and the wanescoating😍 those doors. The thing like a sunroom❤ that stain glass or what looked like it and the woodwork😍 Just as good today as it was then Greg🙂 onto the next one✌

Another awesome assortment of barns and especially that old gem it reminds me of a haunted house great movie set. Now getting to the rocket ship you crack me up mate another uncapped line I can use brother. The rocket ship crashes into the Brown bomber. Hey Norman! Thank you for saying that and I believe those chimneys may have been for stoves or heating sources back in the day. Two of them are capped for sure when you watch the drone footage. It's always disappointing when you see a house with a chimney and no fireplace

Thanks Jamie as always! Yeah that has had a lot of cool doors and good woodwork. And it was great to see that it wasn't vandalized really. Don't worry it's not a new intro it's more of a new sequence that I'll be doing here and there. Maybe at various points in the video I'm not even sure yet

Hey spider doom! Thank you for noticing it. I actually haven't really finished it, it was a riff that I came up with a couple months ago and I recorded it to use in videos. But I'm going to develop it further into a full song... I just haven't yet. That one bit I thought was just so perfect for my videos. Thank you for noticing it I really appreciate that.

Sounds like there’s a new lemon/Lang heavy metal intro to the video. I thoroughly approve. This old farmhouse has an absolutely awesome tin shingle kind of roof, which I think has really held up well, although it is now really starting to rust. I think they are a rarity, but lovely with that scalloped edge. The house has great curb appeal and is huge. I lost track of the number of bedrooms, although they weren’t very large. I loved the wainscotting and the gum wood doors with the beveled/patterned glass. I thought the one window in the old bathroom was kind of cool with the hooks to keep it closed. I don’t think the transom was stained glass at all but painted, which I thought was quite lovely actually. it was a bit disappointing there wasn’t a stunning staircase, but the newell posts were quite beautiful. I don’t really like dark cupboards although most people do, but they were quite new looking. Love the little porch at the front of the house. It looks like the couple got elderly and had to move out and then renters moved in. You said the basement was creepy but I actually thought it wasn’t bad at all. Quite clean and the one part had no painting on the original field stone foundation, and a nice newer concrete floor. Thanks for another awesome video Greg and I hope you reach your goal of 5000 subscribers ASAP. I really enjoyed this video as always.

I didn't know that is gumwood and I never heard of that before so I'll have to look into that and see what it is. Definitely is a beauty from outside. I enjoyed the painted transom glass as well. That is not the original electrical panel cuh. It would be a fuse box, not a breaker panel.

hey greg what a wonderful explore nice old 1980s style home the wooden doors i really liked i to like stained wood more than painted as some can last a life time where as paint ends up becoming old bubbles and flakes of wood stained has more beauty to it the outside patio added to it or sunroom would have been really nice in its days pretty big land the house was on greg big wooden windows looked pretty awsome mate thanks again greg for sharing another great explore cheers mate.

nice place, no decay is nice but the dirtiness is disgusting lol. they must have had a really big dog with all those scratch marks on the doors . would not take much to renovate and move in.

Alright Greg, all out buildings would be gutted, gone! Big old
tree I would save, all other vegetation would be removed. Side (front porch facing north) would be removed and door sealed up and another window added. Two outside doors would be left functional in this bando, the one you came in by and the one through the glass porch (east facing.) Transoms would be removed and replaced with clean, normal ones, and the French doors into "living room" would be clear glass with those hour-glass curtains installed on each door. The two stairwell doors would be removed completely and if any one of the stairway walls (two stairways therefore two walls) could be removed (without the house falling down!) then I would remove them so walking down the stairs you could look down into one of the rooms on one side of each stairway - brightness and openness. Doors to each stairway - gone. The door leading to the porch (east porch) the white door - removed and seal up the hole. No need for it. The room on the first floor you said you didn't know what it was for - would be my reading room cum library. The tiny upstairs room would be my art room. The laundry room would have no upper, shower ripped out and little nice sink installed. Smaller laundry sink and I would keep it as a laundry room. (No doorway into reading room/library.) I'd leave the kitchen, only reno it, I'm not into big kitchens. Back shed area I would turn into a functional single car garage. (All this of course, with millions of dollars right?!!) Nice Drone work, I can see the overview of the whole house roof from above the roof up in the air!!!
Hey Wendy, you pretty much redesigned this entire house. That's pretty cool. Definitely everything you have said would breathe new life into this place and give it many more years of being a wonderful home. So you didn't like those painted transom windows then eh? I like the idea of converting that back area into a full functioning garage I think that's smart. It should have been that already. You'll get them as I see a location that really peeks my interest and I can do a "good job" with it. Not to mention the landscaping out the east back facing door for morning tea, scones and clotted cream. Nice greenery that would encourage birds for that morning luxury.
