- The Mentalist S05E01: The Crimson Ticket
Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney), Kimball Cho (Tim Kang), Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) -- FBI Agent Gabe Mancini (Ivan Sergei), FBI Agent Reede Smith (Drew Powell) - Zábava
The best part of this show was that they didn't make Jane a tough guy. He never fights anybody. He runs from danger. But he's also not shy about putting himself in danger.
He only involves in a physical fight with red John at the end.
Which fits because he's cocky enough to truly believe there's no situation he can't think, prestidigitate, or charm his way out of. And when he finds himself in those rare situation, we see just how good of an actor Baker is.
I really want to say he shot like 12 people over 6 seasons though.
I admit that's what made the character so fascinating and entertaining to watch but a little bit irritating at the same time; because if you gonna
antagonize people to the point they attack, you should be able to protect yourself from that and if you're gonna throw yourself in danger situations, you should be able to get yourself out when your allies aren't able to get to you right away. Lol 🔥💯😁😉👍
@@vmaninc.761 Remember he is a trickster. That is his background. He's not Jack Reacher. But when the situation calls for it, he does risk his life to help the people that are important to him.
I want this show back so bad.
Brit 'n Yank
Yeah, I liked the show, one of my preferred ones.. but I preferred “Psych” over “Mentalist”
I miss it too man, but roles take toll on the actors and i think it's best to keep it the way it is.
You can’t go home again. This was a great show, least for a number of seasons. Not crazy about the cluster red John became in later seasons.
They should have introduced a new killer or killers and their story arcs especially after Red John was over. They could have kept it going with a few more seasons if they had wanted to. It seemed near the very end they writers were losing creativity for some reason, he could've done anything. At least they gave it a proper closing with him and Lisbon.
Me 2!
The irony is two of the people in that room were actually associated with Red John. Just not the guy with the bead.
it's irony only if jane didn't actually suspect it, i think at this point he had his suspicions about them right?
@@dontwatchmydoomvideos You pose an interesting question: Does one have to be aware of irony for it to BE ironic? Let us pause. I think the Statue of Liberty has gone from being iconic to being ironic in one generation. But that's just me. Happy Independence Day! [Am I being ironic?] Then there is facetiousness. Some other time. Have a worthwhile day.
Right. But it seems that that part was written later. I believe that the showmakers had not really decided on Red John up until the very last season, let alone on his associates.
Who were they?
@@sugarrushmatthew5191 The head of the CBI and the cop sitting closest on the right.
I love the fact that the agent goes mental and Jane is just like...did I do something wrong?
And when he said "what", 3:02 his suprised face omg 🤣🤣🤣
He's a masterful troll.
the amount of time that jane has run away from people its actually so funny 🤣🤣🤣
Someone suggested the show should've been called The Troll!
"Congratulations. Another mortal enemy made." 😒
haha
Omg 😂😂
he seems to have made that into an art form. i dont know which he does better read people or make enemies.
@@zour3 but this is his job.
Should offer him something else to do instead.
Antonija Juric I know. I meant it as a joke ish like comment.
I love that smirk on Lisbon's face when he actually pulls the bead out. lol
She's always proud of her man, even back in s1e2 when Jane beat the sheriff in rock-paper-scissors.
@@smurfyday You mean when he beat Red John in Rock Paper Scissors lmaooo
@@mehdimoueddene7642 Nah, that was literally rewriting history. They didn't shake hands. The real RJ was Timothy Carter
That was more like an awkward smile.
That awkward moment when the two prime Red John suspects planted in FBI and CBI are in the scene...
In my opinion, Jane used him as a bait in order to identify Red John's members and he did it.
I love how Jane always sets up for the long con with people who irritate him or underestimate him.
He takes the L and then drops the bomb about the bead in the pocket (although he set it up but still).
He does the same thing with that school principal, take the L and THEN take them down.
Brilliant writing imo.
Whats take the L ??
@@mdmudhussain Take the loss. Basically choosing to lose the battle to later win the war.
@@gamingeagle19 oh gotcha.
It's part of many of the most effective cons. Give the sucker the feeling that they're taking advantage of you. It puts them at ease, lures them in. In some scams, the con artist gets the mark to do or attempt something illegal. So if the sucker goes to the police, they could be embarrassed or prosecuted themselves. If the scheme is clever enough, a genius grifter can even play the victim, having reversed things and come out ahead when a bad person tried to take advantage of them.
Jane knew red bead guy was hot tempered from the beginning if the episode. he framed the guy to get him angry and assault Jane, Jane gets custody of that girl.
Jane would make a great divorce lawyer
Jane is very clever and cunning!
Thanks sherlock! We other normal folks wouldnt get it without a genius like you.
You know we just saw the same clip as you right?
@@shakesfirst2443 yes but he has to explain it bc we are not on the same intelligence level him
"congratulations, another mortal enemy made; you should be very proud" 😂😂
3:47 kills me everytime.....the way Jane ducks is just hilarious
schlontz84 lol😂
Well it almost killed Jane as well
Next time run faster
Made me want to hurt him. How dare he hurt Jane 😕
He missed the shot from 5ft away. Dork!
The moment he said "glass bead" Lisbon knew 😂
One of the best scenes of the series, how he used a simple childish trick to turn the situation around 🤣
"......but failed to catch me". 😂😂
If only I could forget all the episodes, so as to experience the joy of watching all the mentalist episodes again
It is available in Prime Video. You can watch it..!
But one has to forget all ...so as to get the pleasure of watching without knowing...rewatching is not the same when you know
"She told me that all of Red John's friends have a SECRET SIGN to identify themselves"
Bertram: *breathes heavily*
Spoiler alert: it's Tiger Tiger 🐅
And so did REED
it's actually a tyger tyger
It's also a tattoo
Burning bright
What if Jane did it so he could reduce the numbers of suspects and be more sure about Reed and Bertram?
2:43 so ironic that both of them that laughed were the accomplices of red john
@Johny bravo Wasn't she talking with Red John in the limo ?
That is a classic cue of someone who is nervous, they laugh as a means of trying to dismiss a claim as ridiculous and hide the nerves.
@Jullian Dominus Kaiser yes, kirkland was red john
@@Project2025WILLRUINYOURLIFE no he wasn’t
@@NomTom are you trolling or have you actually not watched the show? or maybe you're doing this to prevent people seeing spoilers but its is pointless as the show has been out for seven years now
Considering Bertram was Red John's accomplice, this scene now gives his expressions a new meaning 😂
And Reed Smith
And i suspect Schulz was also apart. But the show got rushed due to Gotham so they didn't exploit all the great stuff.
Yes! Whichever agency won, Red John had people close to Lorelei. Also, it turned out there _was_ a mark that indicated Red John followers: the three dot tattoo on the left shoulder.
Shulz secretly worked for Bob Kirkland. Bertram and Smith worked for RJ. Arguably, Lisbon worked for Jane. The only guy who (as far as we know) didn't have some kind of hidden agenda or affiliation was Mancini! And I guess the judge.
What has he got in his pocketses.
The one ring to rule them all. Oh no wait, sorry. That's what those filthy hobbitses got in their pocketses. My bad.

Jane's silly tricks were the gems of this show.
Rigsby is so happy!
Jane is a professional gaslighter and I love it
I don't think that means what you think it means.
@@dumaskhanO.M.G! I was just fantasising about expressing what you commented in a more elaborate fashion to this person, and decided to not do so before seeing that you’d commented your comment fifteen hours ago.
You are a victim of society. You’re making a misinterpretation of what that slang means. It’s a common misinterpretation of what that slang means because people that use the internet tend to fixate on catchphrases, and conflate their meanings.
Gaslighting is a very specific form of someone causing a person or persons to doubt what they know is true. Gaslighting refers to when someone is intentionally convincing someone to doubt their cognitive ability. Someone merely expressing misinformation would not be gaslighting. Someone would not be gaslighting a person if they merely make someone doubt that a small information that they remember is true. Someone intentionally and actively trying to make someone doubt their memory by making them believe that a name was Berenstain when it was Berenstein in fact would be gaslighting.
A good and extreme example of gaslighting would be somebody putting someone into a room with a clock that shows that an hour has passed every 45 minutes to make the person doubt their interpretation of the passage of time and a glass of water that has a benign flavour to induce the person’s paranoia.
Another good and extreme example of gaslighting would be if some people conspired to make a mother believe that her missing child has been returned to her by giving her a different child, and trying to convince her that it is the missing child, and committing her to a psychiatric hospital as an inpatient for being mentally ill because she refuses to believe that the child is her missing child.
The latter example has unfortunately happened in real life.
Look how cautious is Bertram face when Jane told them he knows the secret sign
To think that there were 2 Red John's followers just enjoying the show is hilarious🤣🤣😂😭
Between the Mentalists and Forever I'm glad these two shows exist!
I had almost forgotten Forever! Now I'll have to look it up! ;D*
Bertram was like "what the hell is going on?" the whole time :))
In his mind he already knows that red bead is a fake signal sign for the blake association so he clearly understood the situation
All he knew that red john was a member of Blake association. It doesn't mean that red john couldn't also belong other secret groups..
@justsomeguy *Associate
@justsomeguy ahh nice
He is soo good at pissing others off without even touching them.
"I'm wondering why Jane wasn't in the Olympics." He was in a carnival tho . LOL xd yes and Jane said the dude did not catch up to him!
He was no Varsity athlete....
To understand how he planted it, you have to watch the full episode.
In the beginning of the episode he randomly pick a bead from a woman. He often do things like this, and he once said he always anticipate over 50 outcomes but never tell anyone because it will drive them mad.
He planted it the same way he planted a photo in the episode to get rid of FBI.
@VENGEANCE IS A MUST
He makes plans for the 50 outcomes he believes are most likely for any given event.
The way he protects himself when the bottle is thrown at him like "oh shit wtf you crazy bastard i'm outta here" 😆
What's in it's pocketses?? WHAT IS IN IT'S POCKETSES my precious!
"So is that man on the far right (FBI side) supposed to be a Red John suspect?"
Yes he is and he was suspected by Jane to be the mole in season 4 too. Jane always had a bad feeling about Bertram and drum roll... he was right! Bertram was a RJ accomplice.
Not the only one... in.. that.. room
what ? "the man on the far right(FBI side)" isn't Bertram ?
if i recall correctly most accomplices didn't even know they work for Red John though.
You guys forgetting one crucial detail... Red John isn’t just one man
@@bobbiusshadow6985 yes he is. He is the head of the Blake Association.
Surely one of the top 10 scenes of the show.
The judge said "Who irritates me the least."
The one side made valuate arguments, Jane made them the more irritating one.
It’s when you think you have Jane all figured out that your in the most danger. they bet on Jane being annoying they didn’t expect their reaction to be worse then his annoyance
i love the fact that there are recent comments.

Hi!
If u didn't watch this episode full and some of it's previous episodes, it's tough to acknowledge the ingenuity of this scene..
notice how in 2:49 Berthram has focused his attention on Smith, when Jane mentions the accomplish in the FBI
I love Patrick Jane, I was creasing when he ran away😂
That’s strange. It’s normal that people watch a film while ironing. But it is very strange that someone was creasing while watching a film.

No matter how old this is,this scene makes me laugh
As far as I can tell Patrick James main technique is to get people pissed off at him until they attack him physically somehow. I can respect that
Jane
This was written by geniuses, and acted perfectly.
I loved how dead pan Chow was.

My favorite show of all time
He's a man who chooses, who can have any say over him or may guide him and that person is Lisbon in his case. He's too proud to be answerable to/get dictated by anyone. So he's braver than almost everyone. Anyway he's more intelligent.
Ram Ram everyone.
Jane’s best tactic was riling people up to make them misbehave 😂
It's funny... 2 people were actual accomplices, one on each side of the table and Jane framed the guy with the temper to get a reaction.
