I really think that the lines around "be careful who you believe"
Would be really impactful if azula sings it as she goes down her mental fall in the 3rd season after the betrayal of her friends.

I can see three meanings for “The world will be ours/When the stars are falling”:
1. Sozin’s Comet - or as people would colloquially call it, a shooting/falling star - will put the world in the Fire Nation’s hands, and specifically powerful firebenders like Azula and Ozai.
2. The entire universe and its cosmic forces of destiny, typically thought to be beyond human influence, will eventually ‘fall in line’ before the will of the Fire Nation. Or the stars are ‘falling into place’ to make their victory possible. Either way, a very grand assertion.
3. Azula’s finest hour is when she (temporarily) kills the Avatar in the Avatar state. Aang is the hero, the ‘star of the show’; he’s glowing brightly high above her with great power… and she strikes him down, causing him to fall to earth with a trail of smoke. She personally fells a star. And in that moment, the world is as good as hers.

I will say this now, if Katherine ever decides to put her effort towards Broadway, I honestly think she has the ability to be on par with Lin Manuel or Anais Mitchell. Katherine exudes talent and I can't wait to more of what she comes up with. Another fantastic song, I continue to be inspired by you and can't wait for what you bring us next.

The full song is even better than the snippet we had before! I find it interesting that Mai and Ty Lee sing, “We’re in over our heads” instead of “You’re” referring to Azula’s enemies as Azula herself did. A sign they’re already thinking of how Azula’s total loyalty to her father and herself above all could make her turn on them, and they therefore preemptively consider themselves closer to her enemies than the friends they ostensibly are, perhaps? Ty Lee knows Azula will threaten her with harm from when she was forced to join so it isn’t inconceivable she could actually hurt her. Mai is very observant and knows how to see through facades, having grown up constantly surrounded by and pressured to engage in the falsity of the sociopolitical elite. She may already suspect Azula’s volatility. This would naturally into her casual but precise psychoanalysis in “More Than I Fear You” - “In fact, I know [that Azula is afraid” and “Oh, I’ve watched your chaos grow”. This is just really well-written and I love the subtle depth you’re showing in these often-underestimated, underappreciated characters.

I got goosebumps when I realized Mai and Ty Lee repeated "Be careful who you believe and who you can trust," as I remembered they're the ones Azula trusted the most, and they betrayed her.
Sosoosososoooo excited I was there for the accompaniment writing and I’m stoked for this to be released! I can’t wait to see what animators will do with the full song and script!

And the melody of the “The world will be ours…” bridge can play in a dark orchestral mix of victorious and mourning when Aang falls in slow motion, killed by Azula.
Yess! Or when Ang dies, the avatar theme plays as he’s rising, but when he gets striked by lighting the “world will be ours” orchestral arrangement starts playing in a distortion

A suggestion:
I think that Mai and Toph should be altos.
I know that Toph voice in the show is high, but I feel that it would suit her character a bit more opposed to a mezzo, or a soprano. Maybe in her songs, she could be an alto with some high notes? I feel like this would suit her character a lot.
I think that Mai should be an alto because in the show, her voice is low, and again it suits her character. So, basically, the same reasoning as Toph.
Another reason that I think they should be altos is because I don’t see a lot of songs or roles in musicals made for altos, so I hope us altos get justice!!

I’m pretty sure Katherine is a soprano, and she sings all of these parts, which is why all of the parts in this song are soprano. In another version of this song with different people singing, I would love to hear an alto Mai, Katara, and maybe Toph.
Mai is the lower part though here, right? That's exactly how I heard it lmao. And it's suitable that Yue is a soprano I think
Plus Mai's alto would compliment Ty Lee's soprano

I absolutely loved this! I can definitely see a Friend or Foe (Reprise) when Ty Lee and Mai betray Azula, managing to overcome their fear of her, and throwing in the line "I love Zuko more than I fear you"
My favorite part is still the harmony on "The world will be ours when the stars are falling" and it sounds even more epic now!!!
The lines “be careful who you believe and who you can trust, friend or foe would they deceive to do what they must” can be a foreshadowing of Mai and Ty Lee’s “betrayal” and in the reprise, Azula can sing those lines
The reprise for Ty Lee and Mai should be called "Friends are Foes"!

I’ve listened to her other songs but this will the first time hearing friend or foe and I’m sure that this going to be spectacular!! My fav at the moment is In the Clouds it deals with the themes of the scene really well and it’s cute imagining Aang and Katara riding Appa!

I used to listen to the TikTok version on repeat bc it was incredible, but this is even better! I love how it’s like a combination of Candy Store, Someone Gets Hurt, and World Burn.
