I’m honestly disappointed that they didn’t send a police officer anyway, bc imagine Addie was really in trouble and a random man calls them back saying it was just an accident and they took his word for it. Anyone can claim to be a child’s parent or whatever.
I was just thinking the same thing. Someone could actually be in a dangerous situation but nobody comes to check. You never know with these things.

We had two wrist braces for my daughter. One to wear and one to wash and air dry overnight. You can buy a tool that helps you clean out hook and loop velcro.

Our three year old called the police and they came to our house. We were so embarrassed, but the cops met him and one of them picked him up and he showed him his race cars. It turned out to be okay, but we were mortified! 😰😂

When my boys went to kindergarten they were taught how to call 911. I had one do it, so like you I had to explain it was a child and he just learned that. A year or so later 1st or 2nd grade my daughter had a seizure she was on a cell phone. My son told the person on the phone he had to hang up she had seizure. . But then he ran in the house and used the house phone to call 911 so it showed the location. They said he was so calm and matter of fact about what happened and was happening. The person on the phone called a mutual friend she called me. I arrived minutes after the paramedics. So now she knows what not to do unless it's really needed. Happy birthday addy.

I'm a 911 operator and dispatcher in Arizona. I talk to dozens of people who accidentally call 911 everyday. It is no big deal and they are most commonly from apple users.
I cannot express how happy it makes me to see parents explain to their children how 911 works.
I took a call from a 10 year old a few days ago, whose mom was having a seizure. She did so well and we got her help.
If you accidentally call, just stay on the phone and tell us that you are okay. It makes us feel alot better to know it was an accident rather than worrying while we call you back 5 times and send the police to come check on you.
Hey Jessica, when you clean Landen's brace, you can use Dawn dish soap, and/or white vinegar in cool water. Let it soak for about 10 minutes. If it isn't completely clean, put a little baking soda on the area's that need extra cleaning. Rub in, or use an old tooth brush. Be careful using the baking soda with vinegar....it will foam up. So, do over the sink. Also, you don't want to put in dryer, it can get damaged. You can blow-dry on high for a few, then lay it out in the sun to air dry the rest of the way. That should work really well!! Praying for complete healing of Landen's wrist/forearm
It actually happened to me when I was 7 or 8 years old. I had my mothers Verizon LG flipphone (actually it was a play phone). I accidentally called 911, and hung up immediately while it was ringing. The Macomb County, Michigan Sheriffs office came to check the area. It was all safe. My mother told me not to do that again. Well since I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone, thank goodness it doesnt slide to call 911. There are options like Emergency, turn off phone, restart phone.
My children don’t do it now and I never done that ever because my parents always taught me to only call if I feel threatened 🤣🤣🤣

That happened to me once, my phone was frozen and it called 911 and I was able to hang up before they picked up, and then they called me back and were like are you okay….. and I was like yeah I’m fine, sorry I didn’t mean to call and they were very nice about it and extremely understanding!
I called 911 as a kid not knowing they'll still show up to your house. I'll never forget that day 😂😂

Just a lil tip, if you wash/dry anything with velcro on it, keep the velcro closed. It’ll make it stay strong, prevent things from getting caught in it and keep it from possibly getting deformed.

My son called the police from my phone, the police called me to make sure all was ok. My son is autistic and had just been learning about emergency services. I told him you can’t do that but back tracked and explained that you can but only if someone is hurt or you need them

I remember when I called 911 when I was around her age too but I quickly hung up whenever the dispatcher answered because I got nervous lol. Not too long after an officer knocks on our door and my dad answered the door and I lied and said I called for my doll baby but I really just called because I was curious what happens when you actually call. Whoops🥴😂glad you didn’t get upset with her, my dad didn’t either 🤍

That happened to me with my Son, a couple years ago...He thought he was calling Dad. He's on the Autism Spectrum so he truly didn't know. I talked to him about it, don't touch the phone. My City's Police Department actually called me back. I explained what happened. They understood, and said it happens but they still had the Police Officer come to my house and check on us. It's Protocol. Police Officer arrived...He talked to me for about 30 seconds, he said this happens pretty often. He knew it was an accident, no biggie🙂.
I wore a brace like Landon's for several years. I had to hand scrub it to clean it. And dried it over a heater.

For Landons brace, use a fingernail brush and dawn dish soap and scrub it by hand in thr sink. Then dry. For the stuff stuck in thr velcro, use tweezers to pull it out.

I run a Brownie unit (UK equivalent of Girl Scouts, aged 7-11) and I was teaching them basic first aid and how to call for help. They asked me how they would call 999 on a locked phone and so I googled the instructions for iPhone because I couldn't remember. It told me to press the power button 5 times quickly and it would bring up that same slider, except it didn't - it automatically started dialling the number! I cancelled the call immediately, but wondered if I would also get a call back, asking if I was OK. I think I cancelled it quick enough that it hadn't connected the call yet so I didn't end up getting one

Love the video! When I was a little kid I called 911 a lot lol...🤦🏻 It was so often that the police came over once and brought me a gift which was a bike helmet. And proceeded to tell me that it's not okay to call 911 unless it's an emergency. I was like okay lol. Even though it's not the same situation but it reminded me of that.

For the boys soccer, I’d recommend looking for a club, they have teams for all ages and genders! As they grow the teams just go up a division with them!!
If your kids love to play soccer and you like to watch them play that much and there will be no more matches till the next soccer season, maybe you could sign them on to indoor soccer and they would get to keep on playing and you would keep on watching them play with no fear of bad weathers or inconvenience of not having where to seat confortably. I don’t know, I’m just trying to help here because I love soccer and your kids are good soccer players. They bring back my memories of when my son used to play competitive soccer since he was 9 years old here in Peru. They had local and international tournaments the whole year. I hope you like my idea.

#Jessfam .Jess is literally the best mom and wife she is a awesome person in general from what I see and I am good at reading people so I can tell she has a great relationship with her kids she is protective (and all moms are a little protective) but she not like a helicopter mom she also lets them be them ,I mean all the words I say in a good way so hopefully no one take it as anything that it's not ,Jess is so good at handling situations with her kids like Addy accidentally calling 911 she says let's not get mad we should explain it to her so she will know ,great parenting. You can buy a similar brace at Walmart or any pharmacy or Amazon. I have had to do that to have a spare one as I have had to wear them on both arms.
On a Samsung phone when you swipe the lock screen underneath the keyboard is a emergency call button. I have accidentally sent emergency help notifications to both my daughter and husband when I have used my phone to look up something or leave a text message and I fumbled the phone and it accidentally has opened and closed apps and sent the notifications multiple times without me knowing it. Thankfully it didn’t call the police or rescue services. It sends a picture along with the gps location and a help message. It can be a useful tool especially when you are disabled or have health issues.
