I actually bought my first balisong last year at Blade Show West because of the sound (Squid Industries Krake Raken live blade). I'm a knife collector but hadn't been around balisongs so when I went to Blade and saw people flipping them, I was astounded at the sounds they made. Finally, this year I bought some trainers and am working on learning the art of flipping.

my first metal trainers are coming in 2 days i’m so excited! i started off my butterfly knife journey today with a bottle opener butterfly knife. my hand hurts so bad
@panickflips only 3 days and i’m already learning the helix. i’ve got the y2k zen rollover and some basic openings down, although helix is a little more tricky
What is the model of the first Bali you flipped, titanium? I’ve been out of the Bali game for awhile but considering getting back in and looking for a good flipper. Best sounding in my day was the 43-401 but you didn’t want to drop it so it was just 4x’s that sounded good and didn’t have to worry about dropping them because BM would reblade them. Things have changed!
I love the blue one Also, in tomorrow I’m going to get a practice art butterfly knife it’s completely safe, which is good because I’m only 10 years old😂

step 1: watch and learn bigflips tutorials step 2: try to combine the tricks you can do, to make combos step 3: watch and slow down clips of flippers you like and learn to learn from slowmos! lastly practise, practise, practise
I feel bad because, while I'm not as good as this guy, I'd say I'm at an intermediate level of flipping but everyone i see now uses trainers or squids to practice on... But like, I just never did, I've literally only ever learned on real knives and now I'm wondering if i should've tried trainers out because it looks like you can make a lot more progress when learning on something that can't cut you. (i have many hand scars lol)
@@panickflips thanks for the positive reinforcement :D. I wasn't sure because I started feeling like it wasn't the flex i thought it was and I had cut my hands up for no reason. I mean when you see people learning on trainers and still doing amazing, you start thinking that. But then again, I guess all those cuts really motivate you to get it right a lot faster haha.
ye it definitely makes u a more precise and accurate flipper, but if u cut yourself all the time and it doesn't stop, you should get a trainer most definitely! In the end it's your choice! But don't worry about flipping trainers man it's the wayyy safer way and in the beginning the more fun one too
You ruined my imaginary place on a mountain or somewhere really peaceful and quiet outside at 7:28 when showing that you were in a city. Until that point I was thinking you were living in a tiny cottage all alone in a wasteland or like a very small island, with no other human life closer than very far away

Yo thx for the kind words man! Smoothness is the most important factor! When you get smooth with ur tricks u can speed them up
great flipping I love the choker's, so smooth! Any idea on tips?? I can't nearly get enough finger strength to spin the knife as many time as you do!
i'd just practise the choker again and again and again until u get the strength to do it
its more in the method of turning your wrist and getting enough momentum. let me know if you figured it out :)

With my first knife i dulled the blade so it wont cut me, but it still hurts a little so i know if i messed up
