Marci was a genius move by Valve, don't need to pay for a voice actor.
They went from very cool character reveals to "here's the new hero, enjoy"
I hope Valve knows that we are all expecting this level of production, including all the extra content of an international.
Monkey King was a love letter to HoN players since the trailer was voiced by HoN's Monkey King VA
which probably may be a sign that HoN and DoTA are making something (Even PP cosmeting for SS is there)
and 4:20 strongly references Legion and Hellbourne in the HoN main menu screen
My fucking G, IT HAS BEEN 7 years and I noticed it today!!! I also transitioned to Dota 2 after years of HoN, it was one of IceFrog masterpiece and maybe it meant to be Dota 2 if S2 games wasn't being a jerk
Similarly to Chinese players as well, MK was voiced by the iconic MK actor from the TV show Journey to the West

Marci is just about useless lazy chardesign: a strong woman who beats enemies with just her little bare fists but still looks innocent and anime cutsy just for the weebs to approve, uncreative boring abilities - just jumps all over the place like a frkn monkey and throws character over her just because she is very strong woman, no voicelines - kinda justified by lore, but again creates a big opportunity to save lots of money on chardesign and voice acting. Marci is literally the worst conceptual dota character ever made.

For me i think its very creative and original to see mute character let alone giving her whistle voice line, i think this is a first in moba. If they really stingy on money they wouldn't make mirana, am and other persona voiceline
@@noobbll if it wasnt about money, they could add this new persona as a standart new char model, as the did it befor with SF, Void, Viper, Slardar, etc, because even if it is anime related, tis still looks 100 times better comparing to this standart low-poly mirana. But Valve was almost always about making money, so they decided to make it battlepass exclusive along with some awesome arcanas starting from WK skeleton king. And now, imagine faces of those people who have spent hundreds of dollars on their battlepasses to get this mirana`s persona, but now everyone can get this persona for free.

Last patch i play was pangolier and willow update. Brings me to a lot memories. No talent, no tp slot, no free wards, supports only have boots and stick 15 minutes in, good day

One thing that I really love about Dota is how unpredictable the new heroes can be. It can be a long rumored fourth spirit, a creature simply taken from a real animal like Hoodwink, something straight out of horror like Grimstroke or Muerta, an ugly huge monster like Primal Beast, a literal anime character like Marci, or something as wild as a cookie baking, trigger happy grandma that rides a fire spitting dragon mounted with a machine gun like Snapfire. It just keeps you guessing what's next, and you're always excited for it.
