That's not true, before they recorded killl em all when Dave was in the band it was still the mechanics, but James didn't like the sexual double meaning so he changed the lyrics, number of the beast was fairly new so I guess he liked the book of revelation theme

Dave Mustaine was given credit for Four Horsemen, Mechanix was written and recorded originally by Metallica. Four Horsemen was written because James hated the lyrics that didn't suit Metallica's image at the time of Kill em All.

Yeah studio you get clearer vocals and sounds.. never been a big fan of live cds etc sound quality usually isnt there.. The live experience can be hit or miss as well but you get a different vibe when your actually there in person.
The “Metallica version” isn’t really the other Mechanix you listened to, the “Metallica version” is The Four Horsemen. The other Mechanix you listened to is the demo which had Dave Mustaine on it still. So that version is like the general version of the song when Dave was in Metallica. But then when he left, the song kind of splits off into 2 directions. The Megadeth direction is this one you heard right here, it’s much faster and has the same lyrics as when it was initially written with Dave in the band. The Metallica version became The Four Horsemen. After Dave left, they re-wrote all the lyrics, and played it at a slower tempo, and they added a little bit of extra music in the middle of it. I guess the easiest way to think of it is-Metallica with Dave in the band = Mechanix / Metallica after Dave leaves = Four Horsemen. I love Dave Mustaine and Megadeth was the first Metal band I saw live. I have a lot of respect for The Mechanix. But overall I personally think The Four Horsemen is a much better song. For any future Megadeth songs I think it would be cool to see you react to Countdown To Extinction. Just because it’s an accessible song, the message and meaning of the lyrics are pretty understandable, and it’s easy on the ears so it’s a good song for people just getting used to Megadeth in my opinion.

The title was originally "Mechanix" when Dave was in Metallica. The lyrics to "Mechanix" is also sexual enuendo about the mechanic screwing the customer. When Dave was dismissed from Metallica, they changed the lyrics and the name of the tune to "The Four Horsemen", they kept the music itself the same, just shower and changed the lyrics.

The build, the tempo, the fast solo, the lyrics (and awesome vocals of Hetfield compared to the whiny vocals of Mustaine, lol) are all better! Although the riffs and leads are basically the same, they are very different songs. Lyrically, I prefer the four horsemen, but for sheer thrash grit and grind, give me Mechanix, especially when driving!

Personally I like "The Four Horsemen" better that this one. Lyrically, musically, and the song structure are just better IMO. When you started speaking spanish, you reminded me of a band called "The Warning". They are three sisters from Monterrey Mexico and they are awesome. You should Check out their song "Dust to Dust" live at Lunario. They write and sing most of their songs in English but they do have at least one song called "Narcisista" that is in Spanish. They also do a pretty good cover of Metallica's "Atlas Rise".

Here’s a live version of Mechanix by Metallica in 1983, as you’d image the audio is terrible.. They never played the song again after Dave left.. They changed the lyrics and renamed it The Four Horsemen.. So if you want a better audio live version you’ll need to listen to that song instead..

Anyway, if you react to Megadeth's songs from KIMB, you should choose studio versions. Dave's voice is weird, some will say that it's horrible, others will say that it rules, but the fact is, that it's hard to enjoy for most of people. Except in the KIMB songs. On that album he really sounds like an angel.

You need to compare Metallica's Four Horsemen to Megadeth's Mechanics. Mechanics is all about speed and Four Horsemen is methodical and dynamic.

Here’s a live version of Mechanix by Metallica in 1983, as you’d image the audio is terrible.. They never played the song again after Dave left.. They changed the lyrics and renamed it The Four Horsemen.. So if you want a better audio live version you’ll need to listen to that song instead..

But the audio here is also very awful.
Anyway, if you react to Megadeth's songs from KIMB, you should choose studio versions. Dave's voice is weird, some will say that it's horrible, others will say that it rules, but the fact is, that it's hard to enjoy for most of people. Except in the KIMB songs. On that album he really sounds like an angel.
