- If you need belting contact me! I have both 7/32" and 5/16" widths. wyatt@edisondiamonddisc.com
If you aren't very good with a sharp razor blade, another method is to use 60 grit sand paper to sand the edge into a bevel - Věda a technologie
Thank you for the video Wyatt! I wish I knew how to put a belt on. When I bought a new belt for my Edison Home Phonograph. However, now that I have an Edison Standard to restore. I will now know how? To put a new belt on correctly! - Paul
Thanks for the video Wyatt. I'm looking forward to following this video's steps when I'm able to get myself a belt from you
I'm glad I got your belting: the stuff usually provided is too stiff to run smoothly.
The best belt I made previously was from skiver taken off an old dress belt: I must confess I'm not as good at beveling the ends, though. The only time I had to glue the belt in place was on my Standard: the Home A, and the Columbia AT and BF, both allowed me to remove the belt before splicing.
Wyatt, thanks for this demo! I have an Amberola 1A that I haven't played yet just because I don't know how to install a belt. Marc
Thank you!
Wonderful
Hi Wyatt, good video. Like the wood glue idea. I've used contact cement, messy. We've met at Wayne. You saved a swollen a diamond repro for me, still running good. I am glad I've acquired this skill as I have rescued many women on the side of the road with broken belts! I'll be getting some belting soon, good winter project
Yes, I do rebuild them. My website is www.edisondiamonddisc.com
Do you rebuild the head? I have a standard that I think think the diaphragm needs to be adjusted
"I feel like Bob Ross..." "Use leather, it's only right!" "Ah! I have drive belt, I will save you!" Thanks for this fun tutorial.
