I personally think they're good, maybe even the best wireless earbuds on the market, but it's not really worth 160$. Jesus, even one hundred would be too much. This is why I hate Apple - they make good products, but then they sell it for three times the production cost.
Okay....Go look at wireless Dre beats....or Samsung gear x, or whatever. 150$ isnt that bad compared to "wireless" Beats. or cheap Samsung earbuds that barely have any battery life. Bose has great quality sounding ones but are like 300$. Please...please...do some research before saying they are overpriced. Not many Wireless earbuds can connect in and out of 1/2 ears and pause and play and skip and or access your phone with taps. Not to mention 5 charges with a full case and fast charging. Airpods are easily the best bang for your buck wireless earphones out there.

Dre Beats are not that good and their provision is about 500% (or at least was, when it was new) and that's just disgusting. I'm not saying AirPods are the most overpriced earbuds on the market, don't get me wrong. Also, your argument with that taps is just poor. Firstly, you don't need it, it's unnecessary, and secondly, do you really think, this is function costs Apple much money to implement? Also, the function they can play only one of them is just software. Just think about it - they're not wired together, so every one of them has to have Bluetooth receptors and the speaker. So, if your phone "tells" one AirPod to play and the other one not to, it'll work, because there's no other way. Like, yeah, their software could prevent that, but why would the bother removing a useful feature? Also, the case is really handy, but it's basically just a wireless powerbank, so it doesn't make much of a raise in production cost.
Šimon Očkáš You go out there and find a pair of wireless earbuds cheaper and or equal price but better than Airpods and have a easier time pairing with your phone with each use, sound good(and not just heavy bass because apparently everyone assumes heavy bass sounds good. Which is complete and utter horse shit, and it’s why Beats had such great sales.), recharge multiple times rapidly. Essentially just easy to use, and a great experience.
I’ve owned mine for a year and haven’t batted an eye at the price. I CANNOT stand wires! Not even around the neck wireless, I carry them everywhere and forget I have them and so on. I’ve easily gotten my 150$ out of them and then some.

I get that AirPods are wireless, portability is much better than any other headphones, but if you'd go for sound quality instead of portability (like I do) you could buy much better headphones for that price, even wireless, not earbuds though. But I think if you don't already have a pair of "good ones" (like, those you have for audiophile experience or something like that, probably closed-back and wired) you should buy those first, then the AirPods. Also, Beats is the worst headphone brand on the way market by my opinion, so we can agree on one thing at least.

I just got AirPods Pro today for Christmas and I enjoyed it so much. I like the changeable ear tips (small/medium/large) plus noice cancellation (removes all other noises) and transparency (let’s you hear your surroundings). They even have a setting where they show you if your AirPods Pro fit with the ear tips you are currently using by testing them.
And they also test how spatial and stereo audio works when moving your head. It’s a great choice in my opinion.

I've had the Airpods for a couple of weeks now and love them but they won't stay in place. They go in fine but eventually work loose enough to where they easily fall out. If I try to eat or drink, forget it, they fall out. I ordered a pair of Earhoox 2.0 off of Amazon but they have been on backorder up until a few days ago when my order shipped. I couple of days after I ordered the Earhoox I realized my Bluebuds X were sitting on the shelf and they had some fins that might just work. I tried them and whoa. They worked great with the Airpods. They look a little silly but they kept the Airpods in my ears without any problems.
My Earhoox finally got delivered and they do the job, however, after using them all day today I must admit I like the Jaybird fins a lot better. They are extremely easy to put on and take off plus the way they fit makes it so the Airpods are pushed into my ear canal a little. The music just sounds better. Sensors work fine too. The Earhoox work great keeping them in but the Airpods don't sound as rich as I have come used to over the past couple of weeks using the makeshift fin solution. Plus the Earhoox are a little annoying trying to get on and off for charging.
I'm throwing this out to people that have problems keeping your Airpods in place but might have some Jaybird fins or perhaps something else that is similar just laying around like I did. Give it a try.

The rubber fittings for the earpods wont fit into the charge case, you will have to take them off and put them back on every time you put them away...

AirPods are not sound designed for snug ear fit It must rest loose in ear. Otherwise the sound quality is lost. That is the real problem. You did not test the sound
