- For folks that follow my videos on this channel, you know I'm a big fan, and prior owner of pilothouse boats. They offer great protection from the elements and still afford anglers an element of fishability.
In the Northeast, Parker and Steiger Craft are the two biggest names. At the 2024 Miami Boat Show, I crawled over 4 brands that fit that PH mold, but don't have the name recognition of Parker and Steiger, namely two offerings from Bayliner and one each from Nimbus and Solara.

I wish Sea Ray made versions of these boats. The Amberjack used to be one of the best cruiser/fishing boat, along with the Weekender models, all of which were “sleepable” and still able to use for fishing.
Well done! Enjoyed this immensely! Sorry to have missed you at the Boat Show there. My wife and I spent a full day on engine sea trails (just for fun), another day in the upstairs "shopping" area, and the last day looking at all the boats we only wished we could afford!! The 29' Bayliner was a great deal, as would seemingly be the new Sportsman 252 CCC they had there. I was pretty impressed! CHEERS!
I had a Pilot house Steiger, I found it was not vision friendly, especially at night ? Nice job.

Smart idea for a video. I've heard of all these but that's about it. Don't know much about them and haven't seen them much in walkthroughs so thanks.
Financially I do very well. The prices of boats are completely out of line. Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Same boat as you. Not sure how anyone is able to afford some of these. I just edited a 33 to 40 foot overview and you can buy a couple of homes for the price of a twin Vee
The black coating on the Blayloner/Trophy must get HOT
I like the Bayliner layout but would be worried about the quality. Nimbus simply too expensive.
Liked the Solara - fishing is not a primary for me so the layout was good and I believe their quality is on the higher end - good family day boat or overnight for a couple.

Can you use a steady cam type of device or camera? It is hard to follow a bouncing camera that is not in focus.
Need you back on Long Island doing boats on the side of the road. I need a boat for this season. 😂

Looks nice, not a fan of Bayliner boats and I don't think they should've put that table out. Solara, no, it's more of a wine and cheese'r boat. Nimbus, where is the fishing space, another wine and cheese'r, keep it, not made in USA. Bayliner Trophy, probably the best. To me the Bayliners were the best, and I'm not a Bayliner fan. Nice report.
What did you think about the floor on the trophy 25 watched another video where the people said the floor in the pilot house felt very flimsy.
I liked it. Didn't get that sense personally but at the same time, we were not underway
@jiggingjerks I live in Florida and have CC but love the idea of a piolet house. As long as they have AC. otherwise, I think it would be unimaginable hot 8 months out of the year.

It’s a Bayliner, a soft floor is not surprising. Not well built, wouldn’t go beyond sight of land on one but that’s based on a long history of building cheap boats. You literally get what you pay for.
I live in FL. I want a pilot house to run to the bahamas and not have to get lodging. AC is a must. I am searching hard.
