Staff members from Divers Direct Key Largo and Key West stores joined us for a day of diving and a first hand introduction and experience with the Brownie's Third Lung Hookah Diving system.
We used the new all electrical system which is powered by two Odyssey batteries and features quick exchange solution making it easy to continue or extending your diving.
CEO of Brownie's Marine Group, Robert Carmichael, walks us through the set up and use of the Brownie's Variable Speed Third Lung - the all battery powered hookah - or air line - diving system.
The special backplate from Halcyon is also introduced as the perfect fit for the commercial divers or if you wish to incorporate the use of the underwater scooters this might also be perfect for you.
The Halcyon Dive Propulsion Vehicles are also used.
The video was filmed in the waters of Sombrero Reef in the Keys in Florida. This is a beautiful dive location.

20:10 why do you have weights that are not easily detachable in your configuration on the divers back! If he were in need to make an emergency assent for example legs so cramped could not propel himself to the surface and need to ditch weight he has to ditch the whole harness then disconnect the strain relief clip to his down line! Help me understand your reasoning for doing this kind of setup? You're already diving a static fixed buoyancy equation without a dynamic BC or drysuit option! Of user your trying super hard to get the diver configured for as close to natural as possible I understand this but with some thick wet suits it will take some substantial weight to accomplish this. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter

Nice but, you’re always watching for your hose hanging up on something. You can’t hear the electric motor

new at this, when using this unit or any other like this and diving a lake down to 25ft is there a risk of the bends if you were to stay under for a long period of time .just want to be safe and have fun

      E. Fifield Yes, past 6m you need to decompress if you inhale air below the water. There's a table showing times of this info with depths and times at depths etc
