- The Other Side of the Island is an original composition by John Cunningham. John plays all instruments on the recording and is assisted by the lovely Louise Cunningham on vocals. Louise is also responsible for most of the stunning photography. The photographs were taken on location in Macclesfield and on the other side of the island itself - the west coast of Arran, overlooking the Kintyre peninsula.
Evening falls and it's just you and me
The sun is sinking in the west
Behind the skyline of a thousand streets
A thousand streets that never rest
But in my mind I'm far away
A lonely beach is where I stand
And by my side I hear you say
"I wonder what the sunset's like tonight
On the other side of the island"
The sky becomes a crimson tapestry
Above the black hills of Kintyre
As we gaze across the burning sea
A burning sea that glows like fire
On the distant shore a fire's in view
A spark of life across the sea
Maybe what we see is me and you
Looking back at you and me - Hudba
