My order arrived at the weekend and we all love it Tiggy. Usually, the day after washing (using shampoo that I've bought from the supermarket), my hair feels thick and dirty..yet, after using yours, my hair feels how it 'should' feel...nice and thin, not heavy and dirty. My hair actually feels like 'my' hair again.
We all tried your shampoo bar at the weekend, it's lovely! Beautiful clotted cream and peach scent...we all love it. We have sensitive skin too - but we had no reaction to it whatsoever :) xx

Hi Tiggy, i bought your recipe last year and like it very much. But my vegan daughter wants to know if its a sulphate free bar? I know there's no SLS etc but is it completely sulphate free?

Sodium Coco Sulfate is still a sulfate though. One of the major components of SCS is SLS... up to 66%. A great alternative to SCS (and one that doesn't need pH adjusting) is SLSa - which is NOT a sulfate or the same (at all!) as SLS. Plus it meets ECOCERT standards as well.
Love those molds!
But the scs component is coated so it can't penetrate the upper layer of the epidermis, which causes the irritation. It's a much better option for those with overly sensitive skin. Slsa is great but very expensive which is why I don't use it in such large quantities, ie a shampoo bar. But good point. Thanks for watching x
@@futureprimitivesoap You are so right about the SCS being much less irritating. And SLSa is incredibly expensive. I do love what it does for my bars though in conjunction with the other 2 surfactants.

Has your recipe changed since last year as the one I purchased doesn't have plantapon mentioned?
I changed it to coco b because plantapon is hard to fund but if you can get plantapon use it x

I’ve just been trying to see if I can source the Plantapon instead of the Coco B. Soapmakers are selling “Plantapon SUS (Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate) is this the same thing? It’s a powder too.

when I use the mould instead of starch I put layer of clingfilm on the base and a layer over my bar. You don't need to wash the mould just replace the film when it gets too sticky

I purchased your recipe, I wanted to know if the hydro protein can be substituted with raw goat milk? I make goat milk soap and would like to incorporate goat milk into these.
I’ve seen others use plastic wrap/film with the press to prevent sticking and less cleaning.
May I ask you something please? I always thought that the proteins would get destroyed if you add them to hot stuff. I must be wrong? Lovely tutorial, thanks!
The proteins are not added to the mixture until the mixture is at the sloppy stage. So you don't heat them with the base ingredients, hence why I added them with the fragrance, etc, after heating x
