Went to Aus for the series, got thrashed in the first match and returned for his baby’s delivery, why did he go at the first place if he was only going to be there for 1 match. Doesn’t play domestic cricket at all unlike Sachin as selection is automatic for him ( he isn’t the only one here though ) . I just don’t respect him for all this,he will not win anything for India. That's his way of appreciating how hard it is to be playing in the Indian cricket team. But he's wrong, talent isn't the only thing.
20-30 years ago, the players were as talented, if not more- with legends like Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid, VVS Laxman, Azhar, Jadega, Sehwag, Bhajji, Zaheer Khan, the Pathan Brothers, Kaif and everyone else. And they still came from out of such a large pool (we weren't a billion and a half back then, we certainly aren't now.)
What was lacking was the fighting spirit, aggression and the confidence, which is actually signatory to the current generation of Indians and the rapid change that has happened in India in general over 20 years.
This young gen, is aggressive, hard working and fearless. They know they're good, and they aren't ashamed to show it.
Also, the IPL was a game changer, that allowed cricketers more avenues to play and make a living, plus the exposure of our domestic cricketers early on, to the international level of players.
And its hard for any Australian to admit that the Indian players have become more aggressive and more confident in their abilities than the Australian players themselves.
Can you imagine 20 years back, if someone told you that in 2020, an Indian cricket team, would go to Australia, out pace the Australian bowlers, out bat the Australian batting side, out field them with such amazing fitness levels and literally bully Australian players in the field?
And they would do it with most of their squad injured and only the A side left to play? And still win?

This is the best innings I've EVER seen from VK, I repeat, EVER. Only Centurion 2018 comes close. The pitch was extremely green, the ball was swinging, there was bounce and pace, and to my surprise Lyon turned the ball miles in the first innings on a fast bowler's paradise. The Aus bowling attack was complete, and best in the world. I wasn't surprised when it was 8/2. I remember Michael Clarke on Sony's pre-game show just minutes b4 start of India's first innings saying, "if an Indian batsman gets a 100, on THIS pitch, it has to be the best hundred of their life". And it was! The shots were perfect, the technique was perfect, better than any other innings I've seen Virat himself play.

Edgbaston 2018 had 7 edged behind dropped catches in the slips, including 5 from Anderson before VK even reached 21. Adelaide was good too but this was a lot greener and turning (both at the same time) than flat Adelaide. Moreover Johnson did get his outside edge on couple of occasions, one was a dolly dropped by first slip (Watson) and the other went for four. In the first ball he was hit flush on the head by a Johnson bouncer. Plus he wasn't 100% technically as flawless as he was in Perth 2018 or Centurion 2018. These were just, 👌👌 I'm lost for words.

I hate when people judge players on the basis of just runs even in t20s, tons of players could have scored that many runs at his sr. I don't know where is 2016 virat, now either he bats slowly or tries to hit sixes which he hasn't been able to rather apart from 2016 IPL, I that season actually ruined him in t20s, his t20s numbers has gone down, he needs to be back at his boundary hitting formula, it would be good for team India. Rohit and Rahul mainly goes all out and then virat can handle from there
