The , “ that’s me doing his voice…” bit, is a nice little cap tip to Andy Kaufman. Paul Foot is a beautiful comic. Surprised he hasn’t done more television.
I remember this SO well, and yet I haven't seen it in years. I had a VHS tape back in the 90s that I recorded stand-up onto. Episodes of the Comedy Store and stuff like that. It must've been on there. It must've made a big impression on me because I can almost mouth the words before he's said them. Amazingly, I've since become a very big fan of Paul Foot, and yet somehow I never put two and two together and realised that this young man I saw so long ago was him! Thanks so much for uploading.
I'm trying to track down Paul Foot telling his Norfolk B roads/Norfolk Broads joke. I've always remembered it and still laugh so much, but I can't find it anywhere
U must be watching something completely different than I did cuz this wasn't funny and was so awkward that it was actually painful to watch. I thot it might get better, but it never did! If u have to explain your jokes or repeat your jokes then they obviously aren't any good!
Was there a food shortage in the 90's ? Either that or a Heroin epidemic that I must have missed. Thinking about it, I was about 9 stone in 91. It shows you the effect of the Burger bar / fast food explosion. Everyone over 5ft 10 is at least 14 stone.
The weird thing is, I'm gay, and I studied maths at Oxford, only it was a few years after Paul Foot did. But if I'd been his age, or he'd been my age, and we'd come across each other (oo-er) at the Oxford Invariants Society, and this was the cute skinny 22-year-old Paul Foot - - - well, I would have, wouldn't you? But not the 30-something lank-haired weirdo, oh no, not him.
Damn! English audiences used to be discerning. Like Americans, they'll laugh at anything now. 20 years ago he'd have been booed off the stage. This guy's mum must've told him he's very very funny.

Paul Foot, before the days of the skirted egg.. Love Footy!

One of the things I love about Paul is that he knows how to dress for the stage.
Lives 2 doors up from my girlfriend a really lovely guy. A genius of a comedian
Thank you for uploading these! I lost the video I had them recorded on. Absolute classics!

Touches of Julian Clary and Emo Phillips in this very early incarnation of the Foot. Still finding his voice.
You could say he was still finding his feet. ;P

Either that or you've no sense of humour
@@lynngiesbrecht910 It was very difficult to read your comment.
Or you have low standards of humor.
A young genius
he was an attractive young man wasn't he
not that he isn't now
had the same sense of humour and talent all this time, nice one
Filmed in skinny vision

Some people are just naturally skinny hope this helps
Calm down.
I’m 5’10 and I’m not over 14 stone.
I’m over 18 stone though 😢
heroin chic was a thing in the 90s, did u miss that?
Good grief, was Paul Foot ever that young?
Lee Mack looked like a smackhead haha
Dang, no hair

He has never used any drugs ever.
Paul Foot back when he was in the closet couldn't be much less convincing
Joshua Ross pretty sure he was making an obvious joke about having a girlfriend

Recently watched some newer Paul Foot material, shame he changed his style and grew a mullet, not as funny now

This was closer to 30 years ago you m*ng. Clearly not very discerning are you?
well, that WAS 20 years ago.
It WAS 20 years ago you cabbage
lol someone with clearly no sense of humour whinging about something apparently not being funny
This was filmed about 30 years ago, in the 90's. That was Lee Mack at the intro. Stop being such a snowflake crying about other people's feelings
