Before I get too far along, this article isn't about IBM. It's about me and lots of people faced with uncertainty and doubt in these times. I'm a big fan of the potential of IBM. It's an iconic, yet flawed organization--like many employers. I have many friends still there and lots of respect for them. It takes tremendous courage to stay in an imperfect organization, sometimes more than it takes to leave.
Many organizations ask employees to put their best foot forward every single day and if we do that, we achieve the financial commitments to the market. The entire organization is built around that. Grow. Beat the market. Limit losses. Limit compliance gaps. Limit disruption. Everyone does their job and we don't lose. This isn't an essay on how bad the organization is or how poorly run it is. You can find all types of articles for and against those arguments.

One other question, when does the 1st Year increment happens 1 Yr from DOJ or generally in March or APR, like if my DOJ IS DEC last Yr when I can expect?
Generally in the month of September
But based on your performance you can get in off cycle increment also
But generally on next year September you will be considered unless you have a outstanding performance

Sir, I have offers from Nokia and IBM. Same package. Nokia will get work on 5G, core java only.
My skills are Kafka, spring boot, microservices, docker, kubernetes. Which company should I join Nokia or IBM.
Both are very good companies
But compensation and work opportunities in Nokia will be better than IBM
IF I HAD both the offer i would prefer NOKIA over IBM.

Hi, I have 3.5 YEARS of exp, I have already worked in IBM for 2.5 years joined as a graduate hire, and then I switched to Airtel India. Now I have offer of IBM, HCL and PAYTM, having exp of 3.5 years , so now IBM and HCL both are ready to pay me 2L extra on the top of PAYTM offer .in IBM they are givng 7A band. But my long term future career priority is to join tier 1 companies, which one I should go.

As I joined as c++ developer and they allocated some nonsense works that's why I left IBM. Even if allocated in any project they can send u any location, you can't deny.

HE MUST HAVE SOME PROJECT INLINE THAT MIGHT BE THE REASON HE IS STOPPING YOU

Hi, I got selected in IBM Gbs. Having experience of 8years and selected for 6b band, is this fine? .. I got 100% hike from my ctc for this offer.. Currently my work is in hometown. Though I am fine with relocation (but after covid), wanted to know wfh flexibility at the organization.
For 8 years experience 6B is a low band
You should get atleast 7a band you might have very less salary earlier somewhere around 6 else you should get 7a Band

@@TechFirdous thank you for replying me. Yes my salary was way low from market value until now. I was comfortable with the pay as it was my hometown (non metro) and less commitment..
But now I feel time to move and grow.. I negotiated (very lightly) for band but hr said that it's purely manager decision can't do anything more.. I compromised as it was a good hike for me.
And more important is worklife balance as I have a kid and have to raise her all alone after my relocation.

If you want to work in google cloud i would say you can go for Accenture.

You have to be in this band for atleast 2 years then you can talk to your.manager for band increment which will happen atleast 1 years after you talk to manager for someCase it take years.

Does IBM lay off employees who are in bench for more than 2 months if they don't have projects? If the employee does not qualify client interview and almost 2 months in bench in that case can IBM fire 6-7 years of experience employee (java developer who joined recently like 2 months before) without checking performance in any project ?
Till 3 month they don't have any issue

Else generally rcm tag you to any random project
And in every 2 day ping to your people manager

You will get good projects of SAP in both of the company.

With 5 years experience he is getting very good offer from IBM
he should join IBM
HIKE for high salary like this are mostly in single digit

Band 4 is for GTS employees.. GTS-global tech services .
GTS is hardware deployment and infrastructure support. There will be very less coding.
For GBS Employees , Band 6 is the starting band.

Working culture of IBM is very good but sometimes it depends upon project.
Mean in 9 out of 10 project you will find everything good.
7A Role are given to Senior developer/Team leads where your responsibility will be do work as a senior resource in the project
