  • At every Cook Islands function there are staple foods from the minus (Cook Islands potato salad) to the ika mata (raw fish) but there is one food item that you can't go past - the doughnut!

It’s crazy how similar Cook Island Māori is to Te Reo. I understood every word she was saying ❤️ I gotta try these during lockdown!

The donuts there are delicious and when I go over I am always asked by my daughter in law to bring her a dozen from Papa Ben's Store - they lived in Rarotonga and I used to buy them in the morning when I took the kids to school - the best on the island. I take in KFC and bring back donut's!

Because the first Maori were Cook Islanders ! Like i can understand many Filipino words because i speak Chamorro. But we are ALL Austronesian and have many similarities because we have the same origin 💚

@@bnoxz The subtitles would be a reference only, as Cook Island maori and NZ maori are two different dialects, yet subtle in the deviations.

Usually 1-2.5 hours but here they said 3-4 minutes… 🤔 the process is different than usual tho. Maybe a warm towel speeds up the process cos you need a warm room for yeast to rise. Also, the flour to yeast ratio is dependant too.

Are you meaning it is stil runny after you leave mix to set/rise?? This part depends on room temperature. So of it's cold then gonna take longer to rise.
Instead of basing on time just wait for it to double in height.
This could take a long time if you're in russia lol.
