Watch this video to see why in NFL Flag Football Man 2 Man defense is the worse defense to play for flag football #nomadicballers #coach d #flag football
I use man to man 6v6 for my sons football team 90% of the kids are new to playing football I find trying to explain zone to them is way to confusing we also use a constant blitzer we have won 2 of 4 championships
I went 7-0 with a man to man defense on 15U you just have to know what adjustments to make your defense alignments ect. Who to play off who up on the ball. It will most definitely work. We didn’t run zone all season. 🤷🏾♂️
Idk man, all I can say is I run man to man quite a bit and have coached a ton of NFL Flag tournaments which I have won as well, along with 10 super bowls I have won and have never had a problem. Man to Man works quite a bit if you know how to coach it. If teams run a bunch formation we may move to a 2-2 defense. I salivate when I see teams in a 1-3-1 formation or single high safety!
This is your opinion, which means little to nothing. As I tell parents; there is 1000 and one ways to play this game and no one way is better than the next. It depends on the kids and what they can understand. If you have a team that hasn't played before you'll have a hard time trying to get them to understand area protection. Kids that have never played zone get confused and only react to what they see. Man to man is easier to teach and it only gives them that one responsibility until they know where the ball is. I only teach man to man and use zone as a prevent defense. I have won 6 championships in four years, (I coach 2 teams) playing man to man, I am the most feared coach in this league. I do agree zone is better to play, but you don't get kids who have very high football IQ's. Most kids don't know their left from their right, let alone remember how to play a zone defense. You're 100% right about one on one coverage in man defense and it is our only weakness. Teams only hope to score or move the ball on us by throwing the ball up in the air and hope they come down with it. You can't run on us at all, 2 teams and neither team has been scored on by way of the run. They had 6 shutouts between them and averaged 2.8 points per game. This is what I do and I would never say what you choose to do is bad or wrong, you do what works for you and what is best for the kids you coach. If you have kids that can play zone then do it, but if you get kids like mine that have little to no knowledge of the game, man to man is the way to go.

Same here
I agree. Zone D works. 👍
I don't see anymore playbook talk or defenses like you mentioned at the end of this video . hmm
You lost me on your first example. Motion in man means you bump coverage with the motion. Teach proper defense.
What is you have a safety instead of a blitzer
Every time we play man man we destroy the team. They can’t move the ball when we play zone we get killed.
Not sure I agree with you. All your doing is slowing the defense on your diagrams or making the routes of the defense shorter then the offense

What is that app?
Playmaker X
All your doing is slowing the defense.
You're always going to have 1 on 1
It's 5 on 5
If you don't blitz, there will be a safety, then its 5 on 4 with receivers. QB can't run in NFL Flag Football.
