  • A survival kit with contents inspired by military pilot survival vest and ejection seat components.
amzn.to/2vh9JeJ - Victorinox Trekker SERRATED. Can't find a link to the non-serrated. Even my old order link goes to this one.
amzn.to/3aHusZx - Victorinox RangerGrip 78. Longest saw in the Victorinox line. I have this as well, just in a separate backpack kit.
amzn.to/38zprjy - Victorinox Fieldmaster. Yep, I have this one as well, another one with the saw. I was playing with having this one in a pilot survival vest I rigged up.
amzn.to/36iO56I - Victorinox WorkChamp XL, same length saw as the Trekker. This I have in yet another pilot vest.
amzn.to/37nwDz0 - Two person SOL Heatsheet
amzn.to/2O8Xesn - Cammenga wrist compass, tritium
    amzn.to/38qTiuC - Paracord 1A, multiple colors
    amzn.to/2O90eF9 - Signal Mirror

Bags, Return Materials Document Envelope, NSN: 8105-00-334-4120. Web search produces several sources.
    amzn.to/2viokXh - Katadyn MP1 water purification tablets
Headlamp, Petzel Elite v1. There is a v2 but this v1 has the more compact string headband vs the v2 bulkier stretchy strap. (I have both versions). I had to go to ebay to get a v1 version.
    amzn.to/2RkWlyN - orange match case w mirror
    amzn.to/2tNHwLY - Dermatone skin protection
    amzn.to/38zujoQ - Sunsect foil packets

Solid kit. Upon your recommendation and from several other related videos, I upgraded a few items. Got rid of the Whirl-Pak water bags and put in the document bags. I hadn't bought a new headlamp in a while and I was amazed at the size and weight of that one in your kit. It really is amazing. Highly recommended, where size and volume and weight are critical. Totally waterproof and it has a 10 year warranty. I stored it with several replacement 10 year lithium CRO2032 cells and it is good to go.

Among the best survival kit vids I've seen. It's a detailed kit. I especially liked priority number 1(Don't leave home without it) and your explanation of WFA. Thanks!

Pretty small but manageable size. Like the thought behind the dropleg style, and I like the the easilily detachable option. Also like the belt option.

A positive attitude is most important, the second but also the first is simply will to survive. It sounds the same but it is different. Will to survive lasts longer than an attitude. Place signaling devices like whistles and mirrors on top. Better to have those up top, and get rescued than having to survive in poor conditions. To be fair flipping over one battery will drain the other battery, but coins can also work. Man, I'm trying to go as this video plays but but you got enough here. I do have a few suggestions after watching what you got, but only two, and I haven't looked at other comments, so if it was suggested twice I'll forget it, if only once I'll mention it again, LOL.

Great kit. Swap out the bandaids with newer ones that have blood clotting or newsprint on them.

Nice kit, especially the Victorinox Trekker, I have the current Swiss Army issue knife, the Soldier, which is similar. As you said it resembles pilots survival kits. However some I saw had a kind of shovel with shallow sides which could be used as a pan, or to boil water. I don't put together survival kits without a metal container for this. One which would fit in this and take up next to no space as well as being very light is the Swiss Army issue M-1981 canteen cup, it's aluminium, not very big and not too wide to fit in here. It's flat rather than kidney shaped like most canteen cups, and similar to the Gerber Bear Grylls canteen cup but that is bright orange and costs quite a bit more.

Good looking kit! Much better than an Altoids tin for sure. I was momentarily puzzled by all the sunscreen til I realized you live in FL! Overall I'd say your kit is about as small as I would go and still feel I had a reasonably effective collection of gear. Obviously when it comes to individual elements everyone will have their own preferences. If it were my kit I'd have a little more tinder in the kit but I live in high country of Montana; here even on a hot summer day it can get down to the high 30's/low 40's at night. I'd suggest maybe swapping out the Bandaids in favor of some Curad Extreme. They're stickier but the main thing is they're twice as long and designed to go completely around your finger twice. I've worn them for a couple days through showers and handwashing and they were still difficult to peel off! Not much to criticize about your kit, looks really practical.

Glass mirrors are way better then plastic and they have proven themselves in a pilot survival situation. You are giving out some bad info here.
