My family visited Idaho Falls from Phoenix and loved how friendly the people were. I jaywalked in front of a truck and he rolled down his window and apologized to me.

I had been looking at cities where i might like to live, and Idaho falls piqued my interest pretty early on. Since then, ive started looking to start a career truck driving, and come to find out, Idaho Falls has a local company. Its too good to be true!

I grew up in Idaho Falls. I could see the Temple from my bedroom window. While I have since lived in places that are much larger ie NYC, I still get nostalgic about Idaho Falls and the surrounding areas
It’s such a warm and welcoming town.

Nice, informative video! A question for you two: Would you recommend IF to someone who's looking for something like Boise, but on a smaller scale? I've lived in both large cities and smaller towns and have always preferred the latter, since I'm much more likely to be spending my free time in the wilderness than in the city. Thank you!

Possible additional con: No real public transit. For those of you who own a car, this isn't an issue. But if you're like me and could never afford to own a car, that could be a problem, ESPECIALLY in the winter weather. Thankfully, most major businesses aren't too far away from each other and the housing areas, at least from what I can tell. I understand that there used to be a bus line, but they phased it out and replaced it with some kind of city run "ride sharing" program. Kinda like Uber, but like them, you need to carry a smart phone with the app to make appointments to be picked up... which I don't use. I hate smart phones and switched to a flip phone.
All that said, I'm STILL seriously looking into moving there.
I see this group posting alot all over idaho. Can you recommend a city in idaho for a family from gilbert az? Seems so different from south to north in idaho .

I lived in idaho falls when I was a kid - if you’re not a Mormon faith, you will be snubbed, as a kid I was threatened by other kids, and the only friend I had was from California. So you have young kids and you are not Mormons you might want to think about that.
He’s not wrong it is filled with Mormon and Christians that will create problems. I’ve had 2 guns pulled on me living here and I’m only 20. Most of these kids will be driving diesel trucks watch out and be safe.

Pros we can carry guns openly or concealed. - People are nicer when they are on even ground. Cons IF housing has tripled as of late. - The IF area has been losing private sector high paying jobs to public sector jobs. - This change has made home ownership more difficult for locally employed people. - If you come to IF bring your out-of-state job with you.
He’s not wrong pay is crap and housing is 😅😂😂 a $400 place is $800-$1500 for anything decent unless you live where the drugs and people don’t give a shit
Don’t live in idaho falls it’s filled with drugs and terrible people move to Ammon 100% better and out in the country where you can have 3 dogs or more depending on area. Idaho falls 2 dogs Ammon 3 dogs and out of city limits up to 5 I think
I lived at the fair bridge inn for 3 months while homeless with my fiancé/wife and every night we saw people shooting up. Don’t believe me I have video proof and I am more then happy to post it to you guys
