@@DZ477 that is true, its called the habitable zone of a star. And i would agree that 2 suns might be okay but unfortunetly with 3 suns there will be absolut chaos. I assume the 3 suns each make up a good percentage of the mass of their solar system since suns require a certain mass. For example our solar system works because our sun has 99.8% of the mass of the solar system. Lets say the 3 suns are each similar size, which will result in an unpredictably chaotic orbit that is drasticaly affected by the smallest changes. Its called the three body problem if you want to know more.
That being said there is pretty much no chance that earth will constantly stay in the habitable zone of these 3 stars because of that.

The physics breaking of this movie took me out of this. The closest star to us other than the Sun is Proxima Centauri, and that's 25 trillion miles away. The earth is moving around the sun at 67,000 miles per hour. Even if we got launched out of orbit aimed directly at our nearest star, it would take over 15 million years to get there. There is zero chance of surviving the erasure of our Sun. Best bet would be to get all the drugs and put everyone to sleep. There would be no point in fighting for food or to drive anywhere. Kind of pointless, as all the planets are now flying off into space. The Earth/Moon system will remain together though.
I think it's more likely they send up a nuclear powered satellite to maintain communications. With the sun gone, almost all satellites will fail within weeks. A frozen Earth can have survivors in special bunkers, but contact between bases will be difficult without an atmosphere or satellites.
