Because the brand ends up in discount retailers while you will never see a Louis Vuitton for sale.
I knew it was a reason why I love Michael Kors. He loves to dress women and he loves his mom. I love his handbags. I can't get enough of them. Everyone I know love Michael Kors merchandise. He will never go out of style. Keep up the awesome work.
Personally I love his purses and some of his watch collection as well. I also love that he is inclusive and not a snob.
I did something today I never thought I would do. Spend over $400 on a MK purse. But what can I say: it has quality!

I love his career and thanks for the tour
I enjoyed this very interesting video on Michael Kors. I always wondered where he came from and how he got started. I noticed about three years ago that his bags and watches were popping up every where. This is one reason I became less interested in his line. The other reason is because his designs just don't appeal to me. I would however, buy one of his bags for a family member.

Michael kors product might not be a high end product but still his handbags,shades,watches quality are comparable to most luxury brand.He mostly quote the price at a lower range than most other luxury brands so ladies from working class to middle class can afford to use his product and reputate themselves

It’s not racist. He said people don’t want things made in China because lots of stuff made there is cheap and mass produced. Things made in China aren’t typically associated with high quality, exclusivity or luxury. It’s not racist unless you directly imply that the Chinese are lesser somehow. I personally love Michael Kors and own 2 book bags and a wallet by MK. I also love China and it’s culture and want to vacation there. I also love WuXia films.

Exclusivity of designer brands like Supreme, makes the brand highly sought after that only those with resources able to attain it have it. When you create a Luxury Brand that is over saturated and affordable, it cheapens the brand and makes it undesirable. This is what happens to his brand.

Consumers lost interest (IMO) because his products became too accessible.
Women everywhere of all tax bracket wore his brand.
This takes away the luxury of the product.
-especially when you can purchase it from TJMAXX, Ross , or even Marshalls.
The bags are too affordable.
His runway shows are more luxurious than anything else .
Either way I’m so proud of his comeback 🥂

For me Marc Jacobs is a much more exciting designer. Yes people lost interest in his designs because the retail spaces his work reside in is no longer exclusive.

I think people are losing interest in Michael Korrs design is due to the products quality. Not as it’s made but when sold to other authorize dealers like Marshall’s. It starts going down the hole of becoming a cheap designer bag that everyone can get and becomes less special of a product. That’s how i see it when comparing Michael Korrs to other luxury retailers like Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc.

Harry C Yes he was never compared to them, but his work and everything people seem to compare it. Especially one of his location is on Rodeo Dr. Like I would talk about LV and someone would say I got my first designer bag at Michael Korrs. In my mind, I would say that’s not really a designer bag.
Its a different market Its a brand directed for people Who want a good quality handbag without paying 2000 dollars for something good.
The prices of Louis Vuiton, Gucci or Chanel for the very Rich People.
And There us nothing wrong from a designer getting two brands one High end and one mid range.
Another thing the MK handbags you get in a MK store or Any department store like Macys, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales are not the same you Will get in Marshalls or TJ Max.
The ones you get at Marshalls are minimum two seasons old.
You go to an MK store, Macys, Bloomingdales or Nordstrom you Will find the more recent handbags and accesoories from The brand.
There is also the much more exclusive Michael Kors Collection which is way more expensive
