Until recently I lived in Australia and had a few bikes in the 'shed'. One of which was a DRZ250 I bought for my partner as a 'learner' bike. The funny thing was that over time I started choosing the DRZ250 over my bigger / 'better' bikes when heading out on holidays or 'adventure' trips as long as I was also taking my 'ute' (pickup truck). If I intended to ride the bike long distances on a highway or was looking for a 'thrash' I would take something bigger but the 250 is a charm, its honest fun
very reliable bike if you take care of it...one tip is use good quality gas 93 octane gas and high quality oil and this thing will run great for lots of trail beatings
Have a 2004 drz 250 motor got messed up ,so I put an apollo m250 motor in it ,let me tell u ,the bike is amazing, the motor gives it the power it needs ,one hell of a trail bike now and a good hill climber ,it's now my main trail riding machine ,I named her Betsy
A great honest aircooled dirtbike, I'd rather have one of these for everyday riding than a modern watercooled enduro weapon, If only it was 400cc
yea i'm thinkin of buyin one at the end of the year =P
Yes but if the RTA or police want to give you a hard time they can get you on little non ADR items.
Can anybody tell me what the comparison between this and the DR200 is like power-wise?
what year is this review based on ? and can you please tell me your review on the 2001 drz250 4 stroke ?
nice thinking of getting one what KW or HP does it run at aswell as Torque? and is it 115Kg in weight?
mate how much you reckon a used one costs?
Hi, I'm in Australia & I've just bought a 1997 DR250R as an entry level dual purpose bike. I've just been warned that this model is expensive to keep and repair. Should I stick with this bike or move it on at the first opportunity ? I won't be riding extreme fast tracks, more like slow, off road, difficult tracks.
Is this street legal?
Anyone looking for a great bike for the woods should seriously consider the DRZ-250. I have an 02 and it has treated me great over the years and is always reliable, it was definitely a great purchase and I recommend it definitely!
