I had one of these back in the day. Lovely bike and very forgiving. You can lose your license on this thing as it sounds great and wants to go fast! I was told if Iyou drop it on the left side it could damage the engine block.
Yes if the drop on the left and hit the stator cover it can crack the main engine casing. And it’s quite common for it to happen even if just falling off the side stand. I have seen it at least 10 times over the years
I went to see one yesterday, bike was in fantastic condition. Only thing put me off is it had 59,000 miles.. it had on the advert 5,900 It had 17 services all done by Honda specialists.. would you say I was right to walk away? It was also at a really low price, £1800 Just looking a cheaper sports bike to go along with my two adventure bikes, a bit of cheap fun.. great review!
Give me the add so I can check its condition. I have bought 5 in the last 4 weeks . I do buy a lot of these. £1800 sounds a fair price if in good condition but I would try £1500
If you are looking for a bargain go to eBay and buy this one item number 226096394862. It’s worth £4000 all day long and I think you will get it under 3k . I know that bike as I sold it 5 years ago out of my collection for £4500. It’s been in his collection all this time and only done 500 or so miles. I owned that for 6 years and only rode it twice a year as it was in my person collection. Who ever buys that bike has got a bargain. Market is flat at the moment. He started price at £4250 hand has dropped it 3 times now , he must be short on money or just needs it home because if it was mine it would not be going for any less than 4K it’s a cracking bike.
Yes mate. I have bought 6 in the last 2 months even had one delivered today. All under 35.000 miles and between £1800 and £2200 you can pick ok ones up for 2k if you look. I have 3 waiting to strip right now.. think I know the one at 59.000 miles
I heard from a few reviews that the throttle response is quite snatchy, as first gen fuel injection model from Honda, is that true? I am trying to lay my hands on one of these, comments also say it can be improved by power commander tho, so I am more on curious side, going to get one either way
No not one bit. I have had cbr929s for 16 years and owned around 6 of them. Not one has ever been snatchy. These are smooth on the throttle. All the way up the rev range. Hope this helps
This one has a power commander fitted to match the exhaust so this one is super smooth. It’s also for sale as I am giving up sports bikes due to age and injury’s ☹️
@@MrEnglishman6969 Take care my friend, unfortunately I am commenting from Hong Kong so no luck to buy your bike, thank you for your sharing! Cheers mate
It's a good clean bike but don't think you will get what you want for it, I sold the same one same colour with 27k o ebay 7 day auction and only just got £2150 and the guy that bought it was only buying it to strip it for parts as it was in amazing condition.
It was probably me that bought your bike. I remember getting it cheap . I have sold this twice over last 7 years first time £3750 and last time £4000 in this condition it’s worth it.
I have bought 3 more this week. I also sold my yellow one last month for £3995. Good ones do command good money. I do remember you bike could not believe I won it for that price. It sold way to cheap but I am guessing it was wrong time of year to be honest
But it was a cracket cylinder..Got another one for 400 missing front fork but with an extra engine 😊and now i found yet another engine with 400 miles on it😮@@lazardwazard9032
21 years old and this has not failed. Lije any bike or car things can fail. I can run off a list of things on most bikes that can fail does not mean they will.
This guy knows what he's talking about. I can agree with every single word. Excellent review.
Thanks for the comment mate
The CBR 929 is just a good solid entry level sports bike, for not a lot of money.
Almost 1000cc entry level ? Okay bro
where can I buy such an exhaust?!!!
67000km 190psi all 4 cylinders love honda
Good review 👍 I found it what I was looking for.

The answer is don’t fall off your bike lol
Thank you
that bike is mint
In my opinion nothing is mint unless it’s new. But it is in very very nice condition for a 23 year old bike.
I have the same one, 2001 model and it is the same as yours.
Just got mine today 1200 thing sounds great.
That’s good mate
No doubt you will be needing parts from me at some point lol
is it a black one and is it up for sale

Better off buying the lowest mileage you can. At 55.000 miles the bike would have to be cheap
