OUTSTANDING!!! Worked like a charm, very easy and the rebar was 30” in the ground.
Awesome! 30" is pretty good. I haven't tried any deeper than 16".
YES! Thank you! I've been avoiding this project for months, and now I'm gonna go get it done!
Go get it, it's super easy! We use this technique every season. We've been using the same piece of rebar for years! LOL
Perfect! Thank you! Came out in 30 seconds flat. Twisted while pulling up on it
Awesome! We just pulled out 2 more yesterday
Worked like a charm! Just had to remember to work it like a screw and twist to the left as it will back out of the hole!
So great to hear!!
You've just saved my back with this trick. Thank you!
You're welcome 😎
Thanks dude! totally worked. I used a 10 ft 2x4 as a lever and a rope w/over 1500lb of upward pressure...nothing. 5 minutes with a vise grip and it was out. Thanks again.
Wonderful, So simple and effective! We use this technique every year as our trees and projects grow!
Brilliant idea! I struggled with 3 different methods for removing rebar - this was simple, easy and painless! Wish I had seen this video first!
Great to hear!
Worked great. Thanks!
Awesome! I'm happy to hear that 😎
Thanks!
Glad I can help! 😎
Thank you.
I'm Glad I can help 😎
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks mate you solved my problem.
Wonderful to hear that! Happy to help 😎
Brilliant - I've been thinking to attach it to a car jack. This is better!
Thanks! ... And I'm happy that's it's so easy with little effort.
❤
I'm happy to help 😎
Thank you. After trying all possible ways, I thought I might need an excavator to dig out 20 rebars deep in the ground. Pulled them all out within 10 minutes using this trick 😂
I totally get it! You're welcome. We are constantly using and reusing all of our rebar with this trick. 😎
thanks bruh
You're welcome,I really hope this helps 😎
I will try your technique
Let me know when it works!
Works for me! pulling ground rods out of the ground.
Awesome Man! Glad to hear. How many and how deep were they? 😎
@@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard 3 rods 1/2 inch. Gonna try reinserting them using a digger bar to make larger holes. First attempt went in only 1 foot but the digger br makes fast progress. About 8 inches topsoil over broken limestone. The limestone goes to China by my estimate.
Hahaha yeah this technique will make it easy all day 🤙
Wow, just pulled five 2ft rebar’s in 10 minutes after watching this.
Amazing! I'm happy to share our technique with you! 😎
So cool! That's awesome. I needed that this time of year. We're planning new trees in our yard, I'm thankful I don't have to go to the hardware store now and buy new ones.
That's great to hear 😎
It works. Thanks!
So awesome! What project are you working on with the rebar?
@@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard I put a swingset in for my kids about 10 years ago. Landscape timbers with 2 ft pieces of rebar every few feet. The kids are older and the landscape timbers have mostly been chewed up by termites... but the rebar remained. That is, until I found your clamp and spin method. Much better than the yank it all around and hurt your back method I had been using. Thanks for the great tip!
lol you'll see me BAREFOOTED in a lot of my videos!!
This method IS soil type dependent. Heavy clay soil this will also work if the spike isn’t thru a railroad tie or timber, but if anchored thru a timber…, not so much.
You're absolutely right. Clay can be the enemy, especially here in the desert 😎
It seems like a foot of soil can start doing some crazy things with pressure. I want to make a Matlab script to model this, but when pulling up I think the rebar can make a pretty powerful pocket of vacuum under ground as it moves up.
That's why I always hammer in 3 more rebar around it if I can't get the first one out. Option for infinite loop if you hammer in those 3 deeper than the first.
If the ground is moist enough then yes the rebar can create a small vacuum. The turning really helps break the seal to create less surface area between the bar and earth.
keep those vice grips down low and grab that pry bar with the two by four at the base of the rebar and pry it out of the ground.
Okay, I'll have to try that next time.
Thank you! I have vice-grips but didn't know how to use them properly.
This is just one way we use them, we love our vice grips, I think I have about 5 different sizes!
Tighten or loosen the knob on the back of the vice grips until you can almost close them completely around the item in question. You want them to “clamp” onto the object providing a tighter grip than most regular pliers
There will be an adjustment knob on the handle of the pliers. You may need a gloved hand depending on how tight it is to twist it, twisted counterclockwise to loosen it and clockwise to tighten it..
Couldn't have said it better. Thank you for explaining it!
@@dads_diy Thank you so much. You guys are awesome.
Unfortunately this did not work for me. I even dug about 18” deep around the rebar and it won’t budge. No clue what the people who owns the house before me had on this spot but I suspect it’s anchored in adamantium
Noooo! I'm sure that's frustrating. 🙃
I wonder if it has a concrete footer underground?
At this point can you just cut it?
Reported to OSHA!
🤣
Put some shoes on!!!
Haha next time I will!
Yeah, and shoes didn’t help either...
Glad to hear it helped! Shoes are optional lol
