- Hello parents, I hope you found this video helpful. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments section.
(9/28/23) Note: it has come to my attention that this set is once again being sold at Costco this holiday season. It seems Marvin’s Magic may have even seen this video because now the box is more compact while keeping the same props and they even included some thread and wax to make things move (I didn’t talk about the lack of thread in this video, but I did in another. Someone is listening…I hope.) Now they just need to give you a matching set of cards and organize the instructions. After a year of comparing what else is out there, this really is the best magic set for value, compact storage, and breadth of information taught. I think this should be the only magic set any family across the U.S. should own, much would be better if it was. If I had my way, I’d have everyone interested in magic, not just children under 10, own this set to understand both its excellence and shortcomings so we could all start on the same page and improve upon this basic, fundamental starting point.

Thank you for this great unboxing and explanation. I bought this for my nephew and we’re trying to navigate the wide world of magic for the first time.
That’s great to hear. Thank you for your comment.
My kid loves it so much
good video, I bought them to sell. I have been performing for over 30 years and I think this is a great set for the price. And as far as the props, they are kind of THEY ARE WHAT YOU MAKE THEM. Sponge balls and a svengali deck can be a nice little act, and of course a good cups and balls routine has kept people working for decades. Thanks for the review
Great video, well made, and really like the Closing Thoughts at the end.
very well done! totally agree with the advice
Marvins Interactive phone magic is a valuable asset
I am So disappointed that the quality got worst. I remember that at my time they sold the best quality sets
Ur so much better than me thanks tho learned some
New tricks
I am getting for chrismas
Is there a set you recommend for an 11 yr old?
After considering your question for a day, I suggest 2 options.
Option 1 (which I recommend more): The set shown in the video is fine. If you want better versions of some of the props, I’ve added links to find them in the description of the video.
Option 2: “Magic for Everyone”, shown in this video below, along with the supplementary material I suggest in the description.

When I uploaded the Marvin’s Magic set video a year ago, I had an idea of resources that would work for anyone over 10, but those things have, over the span of a year, become unavailable or were not as good as I thought. I’m starting to think this Costco set should universally be considered “square one” because there are so many classic concepts/tricks explained that will come up again later if one learns more magic tricks even if not everything meets my standards. It’s also a low storage commitment because it’s so small, which is a plus.
i have thats one i have marvin too
I got ripped off i dont have that cool bag
