  • Refreshed the F-2624 driver board after the protection light wouldn't come on. I am far from an electronics expert so I figured this video might help someone who's in the same boat as me.

I realize it's been a long time but for anyone referring to this video you should replace ALL of the light blue/green pastel looking resistors. They are the so called fuseresistors and they will all eventually drift out of range. You can replace them with regular 1/4 or 1/2 watt (flameproof) resistors.
Also, there is an error on the PCB silkscreen - D07 and D08 are printed backwards - the stripe should be located downwards towards the edge of the board.

This is Great.I just bought a 8080 and the board is a little different than your DB.Just picked it up yesterday 8-16 2015.I have the same exact problem and cant afford to take it in somewhere If I could even find a place. You must have felt that great feeling you get when you heard the sound of the 8080 as she sprung to life.Im happy that u posted this. Thanks!

Hello- Thanks for the video- I have a quick question- If you remove the 2634 board and power up, will the protector light will still be blinking red ? I have a 9090db that is missing the board that powers up and the protector lights blinks red even w/o the board. Thanks

Can you please post the parts list you purchased from Digikey. I am trying to do the same project and that would help greatly. Thanks

How did you test your capacitors? Do you have an ESR meter?
