    Duffel bags are a pain to carry for a long time and creates uneven weight on the body, thus back problems. Only for short car trips, but not for carrying all around an airport.

    Me Ive been using the duffel bag as luggage for 30 years. I only bring on luggage that is a duffel bag. why??? due to security , more luggage you bring you become a target for thieves. Also when I carry a duffel bag I do it the macho way , with no shoulder straps. I carry it esp. when heavy by the bag handles with teh bag over my left or right shoulder . builds character and gives a good excercise.

    I pretty much only travel for work. I drive a company truck, which is necessary for all the equipment I haul, so air travel is not a concern. For my needs, nothing beats a large duffle bag for a week's worth of clothes. I pull up to the hotel, grab a luggage cart, load all my stuff on that and I can usually have everything in my room in one or two trips. I don't really like suitcases and to me, a backpack is for...well...backpacking. Just my $0.02

      Well said! I used to travel with a just a duffel bag but when it came to air travel it became a hassle to haul around. Great for everything else though.

    Wow, that was a very detailed interview. I bought a leather domingo duffel from beckett simonon. Length is 24 inches, width 11.8 inches and height 13" inches. Do you believe that it will fit in most airlines as a carry-on?

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  Před rokem +2

      As long as you don't pack it full you should be good. You will want to lose an inch on all sides for it fit comfortably in the overhead bins.

    My only reason for possibly choosing a duffle for my next trip is that I see most people are allowed to take on board rather than gate checking. With a tight connection, seems maybe preferable?

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  Před 8 měsíci

      That's an interesting observation. I haven't noticed that when I have traveled but if it's true then taking a duffle would be a better option to avoid a gate check.

    Question can you use a duffle bag and a suitcase instead of using a backpack and a suitcase.?

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes, you can use a duffle bag and a suitcase. Just make sure the duffle bag meets the size requirements for the airline you are flying on.

  • @moonlight__h3676
    @moonlight__h3676 Před 5 měsíci +1

    ....yeah I'll probably use my duffle bag then. I'm going on a trip for two weeks and a half and I'm gonna try not to pack too much. I'll definitely struggle if I bring my small luggage, just in case also that I get separated from my family for the seating that no one will help me put it on the overhead bin. The organization in duffle bag will be a mess but oh well

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  Před 5 měsíci

      There is definitely an advantage to using a duffle bag but like you said they lack organization.

      @@BenDreamVacations yeah, I guess I'll think about it. Our itinerary will cause us to move around a lot, so I'm thinking of a duffle bag for more convenience but again I'll see

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  Před 25 dny

      You can use a gym bag but you will want to look up the size limit for the airline you are flying on.

    I have a weird duffle. It works like a duffle but also has wheels and handle. When i measured it was under the size limits in general. But if standing up using wheels it is longer. Meaning if southwest allows a 22 x 14, its width is 22, not its height. Im concerned it wont be allowed even though not stuff full and very flexible to squish

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  Před 11 měsíci

      Southwest actually has one of the largest allowed carry-on dimensions allowed at 24 x 16 x 10. So if you can make it fit within those measurements you are good.

    Please help me sir to calculate duffle bag size
    I have a duffle bag width + depth = 100 cm (39 inches)
    And length of my bag is 55cm
    Is my allowed for carry on
    My airlines dimension is
    20 ×40×55 Cm sir or anyone pls help me with that

    • @BenDreamVacations
      @BenDreamVacations  Před měsícem

      The length is fine at 55cm but it looks like the width and depth is over the limit but if you don't fill your duffel all the way full it can be shrunk down to fit the dimensions.
