Speaking of beefy heel counters, I would love to see your breakdown and thoughts on the first Kawhi signature shoe from NB. A lot of people hated how rigid they are, but personally they are my favourite shoe of the past year. Super supportive and just felt like an extension of my foot. Also, that shank plate... what it do babyyy.
Which one would you recommend the game day pro or the game day? I. Work at a hospital so I’m on concrete for a good 8hrs and also I have flat marrow feet with low arches
i been looking at these the past 2 days, and I want to get this colourway so bad but not on offer here in Aus. Amazing timing to see if these shoes are any good performance wise, grateful as always doc!
I appreciate all your reviews foot doctor! I picked up the Zion 2's after wanting a more supportive basketball shoe than the PG6. When I first put on the Zion 2's the ankle pads felt weird, but once I tied them down and got them on the court the support on the Zion 2's was night and day versus the PG6. I'm a guard, the indoor grip was great and Zion 2's were great for lateral movement.
Wow I’m glad I saw this comment. I am also looking for an upgrade to the pg6. I saw so many reviews about how great the pg6 was, however, aside from the excellent traction the pg6 gave me no confidence on court.
I recently purchased the Zion 2 shoes, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. My primary requirement was finding footwear suitable for playing on wet asphalt, and these shoes have proven to be ideal for such conditions. The level of confidence and security they provide is unparalleled. Even on super slippery surfaces where they may slide slightly, I maintain complete control. In comparison, I also acquired the Nike Impact 4, which boasts a similarly deep and rough pattern. However, it falls slightly short in delivering the same level of control, so I've designated them for dry weather use. The Zion 2, on the other hand, is reserved for any extreme conditions I may encounter. If you are a big guy just take, if you like full control just take it, if you are looking for the best traction just take it
Interesting, I really like the strap placement on this shoe. Usually the very front of the shoe where they’re arent any laces and your just relying on the pure fit of the toe box area is in my opinion the best and most useful place to implement a strap for a more secure fit. Also it’s the most convenient and least annoying place to put the strap as you can fasten it first and it’s not getting in the way of you when your tying your shoes the Way of Wade 8 has a similar strap placement and it works excellent. I’m somewhat surprised straps aren’t used more often I have a ton of shoes and I believe only 3 have a strap the WoW 8, the KD 14 & the Jordan 8. All 3 of them from the high cut to the mid to the low (funny enough the placement of the straps is the same cut as the shoes) increase the lockdown of the shoe immensely, that’s why I’m somewhat surprised they aren’t used more frequently with so many of today’s shoes dropping to a lower cut and using lighter more breathable not as supportive materials such as Mesh & knit.
I saw ya review like 4-5 months ago….SUPER ACCURATE It’s a very underrated kick If you have a lot of lower extremities past injuries….it’s a great kick…only downside is the the break in time
