This judge let's the attorneys discuss issues that shouldn't be heard by the jury - on a lot of these disputes, they should be approaching the bench to discuss. Over and over in these videos, I see the attorneys have extended arguments with each other and the judge - not a good way to handle a courtroom. I've been on 3 juries and never seen such unprofessional behavior by both the defense attorney and seeming incompetence by the judge.
DId you watch the Murdaugh trial?? The behavior of one lawyer (poot) was so outrageous I have never seen someone disrespect the court so much. But that is accepted in the south.
This defense lawyer really tries to intimidate everybody. I have never in my life seen such a weird person. She walks around and stand right behind the prosecution team as if that's where she should be. Should she not stay on her side? She has definately watched to much tv. She's bored with what the prosecution have to say.
The fact that the prosecution is " defending" the defendant in this should give the defendant "red flags" big time. The prosecution is begging the judge not to go there because it will only hurt the defendants case, they arent trying to call her out, have a mistrial, have cause for an appeal and who knows what else. People have affairs, Shannon, but your client was galavanting around and cared more about the well-being of her horses than she did HER OWN CHILD. These are important things to know in totality so you can see how avoidant and neglectful she was as a mother. Period.

@@rundogrun297 Oh, yes, I think I remember that.
Shannon has wrecklessly slandered police in front of the jury. She seems to have the judge bamboozled.
Are the judge and defence friends? Wow, that defence lawyer is a spoilt child!!!
Looks like they are friends.
I think that's her daughter 😂
She is enabling that lawyer like an unhealthy mother. It’s bizarre and awful to see in a courtroom.
The police ask you the same questions over and over to see if you screw up or change your story. this ALWAYS HAPPENS.
They cared enough to get medication for their horses....HOW ABOUT YOUR CHILD!?
The police are not on trial!!
This defense lawyer really tries to intimidate everybody. I have never in my life seen such a weird person. She walks around and stand right behind the prosecution team as if that's where she should be. Should she not stay on her side? She has definately watched to much tv. She's bored with what the prosecution have to say.
I figured this portion would be messy, but I didn’t expect it to get THAT MESSY. 😳
I have never seen such awful behavior from any attorney. Who's running this courtroom? I blame the judge for not controlling her courtroom!
Hey defense attorney what would be your strategy for the case?
Defense: I'd ask questions and end them
with the word correct.
Okay, you got the job!
I think it’s more statements than questions and then end with the word, correct. Lol.
The fact that the prosecution is " defending" the defendant in this should give the defendant "red flags" big time. The prosecution is begging the judge not to go there because it will only hurt the defendants case, they arent trying to call her out, have a mistrial, have cause for an appeal and who knows what else. I dont trust the defense attorney and obviosly the prosecution does not either. It seems pretty fishy but lets see what happens
Did this judge get her job by completing the quiz on the back of a coral box?
The judge does not look like she is even paying attention ... the defense attorney is annoying ... flailing her hands all around ... and if she says "correct" one more time I might scream .... sit on your hands and
Dear defense attorney, aiding and abetting fugitives of justice will cause you to lose your job. Also, the affair, shows how unattentive Jennifer was as a parent. Her horses, her hubby, her boyfriend. Also, investigations ask over and over the same questions. Not because they don't like the answers, they are looking for inconsistent statements.
She lost her job after this display.
why on gods earth would she allow this to come into evidence? this just goes to show that she was more interested in her own life than her son's. and I never want to hear the leading word every again "correct". This shows her lack of how to handle a case and ask a question, without giving the answer to the person she is questioning.
How does it show that? 😆
@@palepride7530 because the defense attorney is always assuming she is correct. It is a leading question and it extremely annoying to here every minute.
Leading questions are allowed during cross-examination, which is what this witness is under, and on redirect. The prosecution will be able to ask him leading questions on redirect. Asking leading questions in this type of situation is pretty universal across all court cases.
@@wraynephew6838 I agree with you about it being annoying that she keeps saying "correct", but she's allowed to ask leading questions. Either side can ask leading questions when a witness is being cross-examined or is on redirect (and one other irrelevant scenario).
If you cut out the many times she says correct there would be no questions asked
It's on record. Jennifer trusts her attorney. Welp, no ineffective counsel appeal.
That was exactly why the prosecutor wanted her statement. It is interesting that so many are interpreting the judge as weak, when I see her trying to make a clear record to protect from appeal in a particularly nutty and serious set of circumstances.
Yeah judge is doing a good job. The general population of this country is poorly educated and just wants entertainment like in gladiator days. It’s a super sad sign of the times
The defendant’s attorney took being a turd to a whole new level.
Is this the judge's and defense atty's first case??? They are so unprofessional . Defense tells the judge what to do and what she wants. This is so embarrassing , c'mon, Michigan, you're better than this.
Are we being trolled right now with the defense attorney? The defense attorney fought to have an extramarital affair excluded from the trial only to turn around and try to use it as a weapon to paint a witness as a liar. Wow…the unmitigated stupidity
Funniest thing is that the most damaging testimony of his was in the text messages, not something he said. smh
All because the defense attorney wanted to make it look like the witness felt threatened by the investigators. And then the witness testifies he never felt that he was being threatened lol
If I had to choose between this lawyer & Alina Habba, no doubt I'll be doing time
😂😂😂
i hear trump os looking for a new lawyer???
Defense council is asking the witness to speculate about what the cops intentions were. She has repeatedly objected to witnesses spectating about what Jennifer was thinking.
And why shouldn’t she?
@@dandydon6049 she can do whatever she wants. The prosecutor knows exactly what she just opened the door to and tried to warn her. She didn't seem to get it though.
Is it fair to say Jennifer Crumbley will be granted an appeal on the basis of inadequate representation?
💯
I am worried about the same thing. Why have items excluded just to bring them up anyway. Now she’s allowing drinking and affairs. Smh
Not in my opinion because the prosecutor is making sure that the judge asks the defendant if she understands and agrees with her lawyer. Jennifer even went as far to say today that she trusts her lawyer even after days of listening to her whine.
NO
I doubt it, she hired this defense attorney. It’s not a public defender
"Lots of people don't have children that shoot up a school." Did she really just say that?
And she said something to the effect of “most people have affairs!” While looking at the audience in court.
Who cares how long he was interviewed for
Defense attorney is absolutely proof that theory and practice are not the same thing
Defense atty: Please STFU
when others are speaking.
Judge: Please tighten up
your Courtroom. You are
being overindulgent to the
Defense attorney’s outbursts
and poorly presented objections.
The male Prosecutor? I hope
you have a full bottle of Tylenol
and a good belt of whiskey at
the end of the Court day💊🥃🙄
Man, has she put on the weight?!? She doesn’t even look like the same person.
Is she a qualified lawyer ???
She's child like...dressing up playing courthous
People have affairs, Shannon, but your client was galavanting around and cared more about the well-being of her horses than she did HER OWN CHILD. These are important things to know in totality so you can see how avoidant and neglectful she was as a mother. Period.
Yes people have affairs, but, what kind of people?
Why is the defense arguing that everyone has affairs and don’t know that their kid is a school shooter? Literally laying out the argument for the prosecution. The affair and expensive extracurricular activities kept her occupied and neglectful of her responsibilities. The narcissistic pattern is being knitted by Miss “is it fair to say” like a gift for the people. Thank you!
Alina Habba's sister.
😂😂😂😂
This Judge is beyond incompetent.
I agree but I think I'm biased against the mother who did nothing to get help for her son as she was too self absorbed with her extra marital affairs and horses to care about her son who was crying out for help in so many ways before he did what he did .... his parents should not have allowed their troubled son to have a gun!
THANK GOD..I am not the only one seeing this incredibly reprehensible circus consisting of 7 hours of whining and blatant BULLSHITTERY... WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS JUDGE?? She just needs to take off the black robe and take her place as second chair at the defense table because that is EXACTLY WHAT IS OCCURING.... Someone needs to report judicial misconduct 💯🤨👏
Imagine being a defense attorney, representing your client in a high profile case and doing so with this utter complete lack of decorum. Absolutely clueless to how the jury is viewing her and her client. If the jury doesn’t like you, you’re F’T!!!
And judge… get your court room under control and grow a pair!!!
Defence lawyer just made a horrible mistake for asking the shield to be removed. Shot herself and the client in the foot.
I never seen unprofessional lawyers like these two arguing like they are exes 😲
How is this judge allowing the histrionics of the defense attorney? She shouts, pouts, acts like a spoiled child. The judge seems oblivious of how this will turn the jury against her client.
The judge is trying to tell her don't let this evidence in but the stupid defense attorney has issues (and that's putting it mildly)
So the defence wants to open the door to the affair which was excluded to suggest the Police intimidated the witness which is fine and the Judge wants to restrict the prosecution questions? How does that work? What a disgrace this judge is
It's not so fine when it's proven to be a lie though, is it?
@@StellaFl The judge seemed to think so. She questioned the witness herself FFS and then never clarified when he said "veiled threats" he was talking about the fact the affair would become public knowledge. Thats not a threat that is reality.
@@declan92100 Ιndeed, it was actually the judge who led the witness 😕😕and that is problematic, right? I've never seen a judge do that before. she did not ask him, she told him and that looked inappropriate to me (the judge and defense ganging up on him). Additionally, if the defense's accusations had any merit, where was the transcript to support them? In the end though, he did clearly state on the record that he was not threatened nor intimidated by LE. He actually said they were doing what they were supposed to do. Am I wrong?
@@StellaFl Even the witness seemed confused and you can tell the prosecutors are getting real tired of this defence attorney and judge. Going through comment sections it's pretty unanimous that this judge is terrible at her job and clearly bias towards the defence. Seems to want to baby the defence attorney cause of her constant whining and complaining
I'm trying to recall the last time I witnessed a defense atty as thoroughly unlikeable as Smith...🤔...maybe Roddy Bryan's lawyer from the Arbery trial in GA? Everyone was sick of that guy by the end of that trial. Smith is way more annoying though, IMO.
I wonder if Jen is sitting there at any point realizing that she made a horrendous mistake in hiring this woman and trusting her with the rest of her life. She sold her home to pay for the services of this woman 😂 who just let her extramarital affair come into the evidence 😂
She wasn't getting much for that house.
I think she’s doing a good job. She’s got the judge on her side. What more could a client ask?
Jen says she trusts her! On the record! Under oath!
Sadly, the law is police can lie to you (supported by a US Supreme Court ruling), but it is illegal to lie to them...a double standard. Jennifer looks like she has put on some weight...must be that prison food.
The reason they are allowed to lie about evidence during interrogation is because a reasonable innocent persons testimony would not be changed.
@@DeagleGamesTVThat’s BS. Many innocent people have been intimidated by lying and threatening cops.
@@DeagleGamesTVDo you have any evidence for that beyond "i believe that, it is true, believe me". All psychologists would probably disagree with you.
Smith's voice is like nails on a chalkboard...
"Are we going to have another week arguing what a terrible person JC is?" Uh, does the judge know what she is accused of? A negligent mother=terrible person. In this aspect of her life, she IS a terrible person. End of.
Who is running that court room the defense attorney seems like it to me. Air out her temper tantrum in a side bar Maybe she needs a chill pill
Shannon Smith is sooooo impersonable! It’s horrific to listen to!
"CORRECT?" She's annoying with all her temper tantrums.
She is very pretty though!
This prosecutor is not messing around. I can’t tell if he is as good as it seems or if it’s because the defense attorney is a joke? Either way, 👍
So my theory is that the defense it trying to be the most irritating awful person in the room to take the heat off her monster of a client. That, or she is actually nuts.
“I am a horrible defence attorney, correct?”
6:32 Noooo. No you don't want the door to be opened.
9:55 You are walking yourself until a minefield. Why?!
7:26 I am really surprised that the Judge is not setting precedent with defense by this point. I can't imagine this trial not being a waste of time because it is extremely likely to earn an appeal.
15:51 Opening the door lets this play out. I can't imagine the Judge can keep this from spiralling.
16:43 Yeah defense isn't addressing it to character assassinate but because these adults were parents to a teen in crisis and were more focused on the child's mental deterioration solving itself, horses, and hiding an affair. I don't understand the Judge coddling Defense and vilifying Prosecution.
18:52 Ok, it is apparent that the Judge for some reason doesn't see the affair or the condition of the home as relevant. It is not to stinking shame the Mom. It is to show that HER energy was being utilized elsewhere. That would be fine if she took her son's pleads for help seriously and got resources for his mental health. I know appt and referrals are a pain here in the USA. But it is possible and attainable but they didn't take much of the red flags seriously.
The judge clearly doesn't have control of this court room. She's an extremely weak judge who's allowing this clown show.
I absolutely do not like the defense lawyer
So you're saying we're running through this open door?
She is awful. Jury is gonna hate JC just because she hired her and the jury has to listen
Jennifers defense lawyer is Horrible she throws fits, she pouts and she is so unprofessional, she should not be handling this high profile case at all.
Ugh. Defense wandering over to the other side? WTF. I’d object!
If this defense attorney is married I feel sorry for her husband.
It must suck to not be able to afford a top notch defence team.
It could make all the difference in the world.
The judge's behavior is going to be enough for a appeal. Geez I have never seen someone so indecisive as her.
"I trust her so yes" ugh famous last words
Defense lawyer is doing a very good job of annoying me, wonder if others in the courtroom feel the same.
If the police interview used pressure to elicit the truth there is no problem with that and the defense attorney just made a big mistake. If there is no coercion from the police for the defendant to offer false testimony, Shannon Smith just sunk her client's case and opened the door for Crumbley's appeals process due to incompent counsel if she is convicted.
Defense hard to listen to so stressful
Maybe this defense attorney went to the same law school as D. Brooks. She is unbelievably bad. I’m actually embarrassed for her.
Is this defenses first witness? Wow.
The defense attorney is a trainwreck. Her hands on her hips, rolling eyes, getting in the face of the DA, and on and on. She has got to be offensive to the jury. Her behavior as a seasoned attorney is a disgrace. Crumbley should get a refund.
This judge has no control of her court.
Jennifer Crumbly is enjoying the prison high carb diet 😂
Ok bye, I can’t stand this defense counsel 😅🙄.
What is wrong with this woman🤣🤣🤣
Her lawyer is terrible!
The judge is a wimp
The defense lawyer is the bottom of the barrel
