Me! 6-20-24. It fits life sometimes, like today! Yesterday, a "friend" of mine was approaching the door to our apartment complex with his arms full of bags. I reached for the door to open it. He quickly got his keys in & opened it before I could. I greeted him and he blew right past me, without a word. He almost whipped his neck to turn away from me. He's mad because he asked me to loan him money and I refused. His response was "Okay Whatever. Who cares anymore anyway." Something in my kind heart snapped. You know the saying, "The straw that broke the 🐫 's back. That was "the straw" and yesterday's interaction was a nail, closing the door on our friendship. It may have been released 19+ years ago (Joe Diffie's was 23 years ago), but it still applies today and will as long as people keep getting on my last nerve!

LOVE this song! makes me realize that yeah, we may have funky messed-up childhoods, codependency, whatever, but ultimately it's our responsibility how we treat people. So we can't blame it on other things and other people (as is SUCH the common way to do these days). If we take a little responsibility, we just might actually hang on to people we really want in our lives. :)

I have a friend that FINALLY got rid of her abusive a.h. boyfriend. I suggested this as being her new theme song. A little 8 y.o. girl overheard us, looked up the video on her phone & just handed her phone to my friend,(we didn't even know her!) & said, "she's a real good singer. I dated when I wanted to and even had a couple of semi-serious relationships that were good while they lasted, and ended when it was time to move on. No hurt feelings and no regrets.
